Who is waiting for the New Year?

Why?

There is no time like the present!

How do my full body strength training plans work?

We have a brief phone call to discuss where you will be completing your workouts (e.g. gym/home) and therefore what kit you will have. I will then put together 2 or 3 (your choice) plans which we will run through together in my gym at an agreed time.

The benefits of doing it this way are:
1. You don't need to think about what exercises to do as its all planned out for you for at least the next 8 weeks.
2. You know exactly how to perform each exercise because we have practised them.
3. You know what weights to pick up, if you are in a gym.
4. I can be confident that your form is good, so there is less risk you will hurt yourself.
5. You will be hitting each body part 2-3 times a week ensuring your whole body really will get strong!
6. While I don't do, or believe in, food plans we can discuss some simple principles to follow to get the best results!

Get in touch if you have questions! You can book direct via the link in the bio!

Forget over priced, over sized pregnancy pillows, this is a total win for a great nights sleep!

All you need is one v-pillow (you can pick these up at places like Dunelm or even sometimes Lidl) and a normal pillow or towel.

You place half of the v under your waist (between your hips and your ribs) and the other half goes between your thighs, and then use the second pillow between your shins/feet.

If you want to try this tonight and don't have a v pillow you can just use 2 normal pillows, but one v makes it less likely to wiggle out of position in your sleep!

Et voila. Sweet dreams.

Let me know how you get on!

p.s. this isn't just for pregnancy, its super comfy for everybody and especially so if you have any kind of back or pelvic pain!

I realised my Instagram made me look a bit like I was a period pant wearing nutritionist.

So I thought I’d better showcase what I actually do. (Obviously do wear the period pants when necessary!)

If you are considering whether I could help you, as always, just ask!

I have some new clinic hours adjusting around my latest Mum service to Harry’s rugby training on a Tuesday night. Arriving home at 5.40pm and getting to the sports centre by 5.50pm is a miracle that I just can’t make happen.

BUT I know the late appointments are popular so I’m going to try a Wednesday afternoon addition and see how that goes!

I am still at my old clinic but only for perhaps another week or so 🙏 I will obviously update everyone booked in as and when I do move!

Shout with questions! ❤️

Our Story

A clinic for all your pre and postnatal needs. Antenatal classes, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, massage, fitness, pilates and TENS machine hire.

Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor Laura was born and raised in Newquay and after studying A-levels at Newquay Tretherras School she chose to go to Oxford Brookes University to study BSc Physiotherapy. After gaining her honours degree in 2008 Laura returned to Cornwall and soon gained a job with the NHS. She has worked as a musculoskeletal out patients physiotherapist around the county, gaining a wealth of experience along the way. As well as the standard musculoskeletal conditions she now specialises in women's health physiotherapy treating women with pregnancy related pain and continence problems.

Laura had her first child in 2012 and although she had a lovely pregnancy it helped her appreciate the difficulties which many women face. During her first pregnancy Laura found little relevant exercise and treatment locally, this inspired her to start her business to help current mums and mums of the future! Laura is now a Mum of 2 lovely boys and has a successful business empowering women throughout Cornwall to keep fit and well.

The Fit Bumps and Mums studio is now not only home to the clinic which offers everything from Physiotherapy to waxing but the purpose built studio now hosts a variety of classes throughout the week, extending from Baby Massage to Pregnancy Yoga. See the timetable on the website for full up to date details and booking.
