It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you of the passing of Kathleen McComiskey.

McComiskey (nee Marner) Leode, Hilltown. Kathleen died peacefully at home 27th December 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Devoted wife of Terry and loving mother of Martin, Kevin and Briege. Mother-in-law of Sean Downey and grandmother of Sean and Kate. Sister of Raymond, Marie Brannigan and the late Michael and Stephen.

Kathleen’s remains are reposing at her late residence; 26 Leode Road, Hilltown until removal on Tuesday 30th December at 11am for 12noon Requiem Mass in St. John the Baptist Church Ballygorian, Hilltown. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, sons, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law, sister, brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and entire family circle.

Month’s Mind Acknowledgement for the late Mary McPolin.

We the family of the late Mary McPolin, wish to express our deepest and most sincere thanks to everyone who supported us and shared in our sorrow following mummy’s sad passing.

We are truly grateful to our family, friends, neighbours and whole community who surrounded us with love and kindness during such a difficult time.

We would like to pay a special thanks to all the priests especially Fr. Charlie Byrne for his pastoral visits and the support he provided to both mummy and our family and for a beautiful and meaningful funeral mass that brought great comfort to us. Special mention to Des McNeill our sacristan.

To Eileen Mooney, Bernice McAleenan and the choir for the beautiful music and singing which added so much to the funeral mass.

A heartfelt thank you to Peter Doran Funeral Directors for your personal and caring manner in which you carried out all of the funeral arrangements.

We owe a special thanks to all the Doctors, nurses, ‘Life & Time’ and ‘Marie curie’, your compassion, care and dedication to both mummy and our family will never be forgotten.

We would also like to thank Paul and all the staff of Mayobridge Pharmacy for their compassion and professionalism.

Thank you to Diamonds Restaurant, Warrenpoint for providing the meal and to Clonduff GAC for the use of their facilities following the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our deep appreciation and thanks to you all.

Ciara and Declan, together with Oisín’s entire family, would like to thank so many; for their care, help, and support during this unimaginable time.

Special thanks to everyone for respecting our privacy throughout. Please know that we will be forever grateful.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the sad passing of Paul Brannigan.

Brannigan; Iver, London (formerly Hilltown) Paul passed away peacefully in hospital on 17th December 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Loving son of Paddy and Louie and devoted brother of Violet McHugh (Paul), Patrick (Rosemary R.I.P.), the late John, Daniel (Rosaleen), Noel, Dominic (Tracey), and Mary Lou Bartley (Noel).

Paul’s remains will be reposing at his parents home; 4 Fegans Gardens, Hilltown from 1.30pm on Tuesday 23rd December until removal on Friday 26th December at 10.15am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. John’s Church Ballymaghery, Hilltown. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you of the passing of Carol McGreevy.

McGreevy (18 Crookoona Park, Kilcoo) Carol died peacefully in Craigavon Area Hospital 16th December 2025.

Dearly loved wife of John and mother of Robert, Tracy, Damian (deceased), Patrick, Leanne, Colleen and John.

Carol’s remains will leave her late residence at 9.40am on Thursday 18th December for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Malachy’s Church, Kilcoo. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Month’s Mind Acknowledgement for the late Elizabeth Travers.

John, Lorraine, Bernard, Damian, Angeline, John and Gerald, with the Travers and Fitzpatrick families wish to express our deepest and most sincere thanks to those who supported us in many ways and shared in our grief following the passing of our beloved wife, mummy, granny, sister and aunt.

We are truly grateful to our family, friends and whole community, who surrounded us with love and kindness during such a difficult time.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Oisín Patrick Killen.

Killen (Barnmeen) 28th November 2025. Oisín passed away peacefully in his mummy and daddy’s arms and surrounded by his adoring family.

Much loved and cherished son of Declan and Ciara. Adored little brother of Daithí and Nora. Treasured grandson of Kieran and Delia Fitzpatrick and Colm and Monica Killen. Much loved nephew of Noelle, Laura, Joanne, Nicole, Conor and John-Paul.

Oisín will rest at his late home; 20 Lurgancahone Road, Barnmeen.

House private. Open to family and close friends on Wednesday 3rd December 2025 from 3pm - 7pm.

Oisín will make his final journey to St. Colman’s Church, Barnmeen on Thursday for a Mass of the Angels at 12.30pm. He will then be laid to rest afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the sad passing of Mary McPolin.

McPolin; (nee McEvoy) 4 Kennedy Drive, Hilltown. Mary passed away peacefully at home 26th November 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Laurence, and devoted mother of Mary, Isobel, Patricia, Laura, Noreen, and Susie; and of her dear children who died in infancy; Laurence, Peter, and Eve. Much loved daughter of the late Peter and Isabella, cherished sister of Peter Joe, Hugh John, Brendan, and Mickey, and loving grandmother of Sean Lynch R.I.P.

Mary’s remains will be reposing at her home from 12pm - 9pm on Thursday and Friday. Removal on Saturday 29th November at 11.15am for 12 noon Requiem Mass in St. John’s Church Ballymaghery, Hilltown. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Month’s Mind Acknowledgement Notice for the late Margaret Gilmore.

The sons and daughters of the late Margaret Gilmore; Rita, Colm, Jim, Teresa, Winnie, Emmett, Angela, PJ, Christine, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and entire family circle wish to express our profound gratitude, appreciation and welcome support to all those who sympathised with us during our recent sad, heartbreaking and sudden bereavement.

Thanks to everyone who called at the family home, sent Mass offerings, and messages of sympathy, letters, texts, floral tributes, brought food, and to all the substantial numerous people who attended the wake and funeral. Your presence at this time was greatly appreciated and aided us in our time of intense, unexpected loss of our precious
mum.

Sincere thanks are also extended to the emergency services personnel who attended dear mother.

We especially wish to thank Fr Charlie Byrne PP, who celebrated mum’s beautiful Requiem Mass so eloquently and respectively and for all his numerous visits to mum over the past number of years and his welcome words of comfort and prayers to us her family during this particularly traumatic time.

Our gratitude is also extended to Canon Frank Kearney, Monsignor John Clark and Canon John Kearney for their attendance and prayers during mum’s wake. Thanks also to Mrs Eileen Mooney and the Clonduff Parish Choir for their beautiful singing and music which greatly enhanced mum’s Funeral Mass.

We are also extending our thanks to Eugene and Pauline Hughes, who provided the field that enabled the facility of car parking and to Peter Fitzpatrick Quarry, Leod, for preparing the field. Also, our appreciation to all who helped direct the vast amount of traffic.

Thanks to Des McNeil our Sacristan, for helping at the Funeral Mass and to the Eucharistic Ministers.

Grateful appreciation to Marian Brannigan for the use of the INF Hall and supplying chairs and catering equipment and to Hugh Murray and staff from Diamonds Restaurant for the excellent meal after mother’s funeral.

We also wish to thank Doctors Megaw and Irwin of Rathfriland Surgery for their unwavering attention and medical advice to mum over the years and to Paddy and staff of Hilltown Pharmacy for their compassion and professionalism.

Appreciation to St John’s GAC, Drumnaquoile for their catering utensils.

Sincere and profound gratitude and appreciation to Eugene, Dympna and Paul Lively from Peter Doran Funeral Directors, for the dignified, highly respectful and meticulous personal manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and preparing the grave.
