This is feedback from 1 of our lovely members who attended a recent meeting up. This makes all the hard work worthwhile. Please read thank you.
Shazza I feel so much lighter and less alone after meeting with all Breast Mates fellow breast cancer warriors to have a chat and a cuppa. I honestly think ๐ค being with women living with a past or present breast cancer diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and long term treatment with medication ๐ makes it a little easier when you know your not alone and you can openly admit and acknowledge your feelings, emotions, experiences and your fear while all the while you finally come to the realisation that you have now become part of a new family that totally understands what goes around in your head when you look in the mirror whether it be your face or your body, only women with the mental, emotional and physical scars like us can understand the grieving process we go through in an effort to survive and our journey begins when we find that dreaded lump. But it is absolutely amazing to be part of a unique group of ladies with such a wonderful community that offers a safe space to express our deepest thoughts and exchange stories and support one another while making friends at the same time, where else would you get this kind of solidarity only at Breast Mates Newry. I will definitely be back for more ๐ฉท๐๐๐
