We are so proud to congratulate Kacie, Ava, Laura, Kieran, Jan and Dearbhala on successfully completing the their NPLQ. A first for Curran Lifesaving School 🏊‍♀️🚨

This is a massive achievement and a real credit to the hard work, commitment and determination each of you showed throughout the course. For some, this journey began years ago at Curran Lifesaving School, making this moment even more special 💚

A special mention as well to Brendan, who completed his first NPLQ course as a TA 👏🙌

🌊 Huge Congratulations to Kacie & KatieMay! 🌊

We’re so proud to share that both Kacie and KatieMay are now officially qualified swimming teachers! 👏💦

These two have been an important part of our Curran Lifesaving School team over the past year, volunteering each week as Junior Assistants and supporting our younger swimmers with patience, enthusiasm and care.

It’s especially lovely to see KatieMay’s journey come full circle — she first joined our programme when she was just 8 years old (second photo!) and has now grown into a confident teacher inspiring the next generation. 💚

Well done girls — your dedication and passion for lifesaving and swimming truly represent what Curran Lifesaving School is all about! 🏊‍♀️🌟

🌊🏅 Curran Lifesaving School – Certificate Presentation Day! 🏅🌊

What a fantastic afternoon celebrating all our amazing WaterSmart, Rookie Lifeguard and National Lifesaving Academy swimmers! 👏✨

We are so proud of every single child for their hard work, teamwork and progress this term — your confidence and lifesaving skills just keep growing! 💙

Here are some of the brilliant achievements from this block:

🔹 5 children completed their Rookie Lifeguard Gold and have now progressed to the National Lifesaving Academy
🔹 3 children achieved their Life Support awards
🔹 4 children completed the WaterSmart Learn to Swim programme and moved up to Rookie Lifeguard
🔹 Many more children completed their WaterSmart water safety levels and Bronze Rookie Lifeguard awards – a huge well done to you all!
🔹 4 members of our National Lifesaving Academy completed their NPLQ and are now fully qualified lifeguards – an incredible achievement!

A special congratulations also goes to KatieMay and Kacie, who have officially completed their Swimming Teacher qualifications – we’re so proud to see our young leaders taking the next step in their teaching journey. 🌟

Curran Lifesaving School has now grown to over 100 children learning vital water safety and lifesaving skills each week. A huge thank-you to our coaches, junior assistants, parents and swimmers for your continued support and enthusiasm — you make it all possible! 🤍

🛟 From learning lifesaving skills to teaching them – the full circle moment! Congratulations Dearbhala🙌

Dearbhala has been part of Curran Lifesaving since she was just 10 years old – starting out in our Rookie Lifeguard classes, moving on through the National Lifesaving Academy, and now she’s gone and smashed her Swim Ireland Level One Teaching Qualification 🙌💦

From her very first Bronze Rookie certificate to now becoming a qualified teacher, it’s been amazing to watch her grow and achieve so much. 💙

We’re so proud of you, Dearbhala – and we know you’ll be brilliant at helping the next wave of rookies and lifesavers come through! 🏊‍♀️✨

Curran Lifesaving School is looking for Junior Teaching Assistants to join our busy Water Smart and Rookie Lifeguard classes 🏊‍♀️🌊

📍 Sundays 11am–12pm
📌 Newry Leisure Centre

If you have a Level 1 Qualification, NPLQ, or a strong interest in working with children and are keen to work towards your qualification, we’d love to hear from you! 🙌

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, build confidence, and be part of a team dedicated to water safety and lifesaving skills.

A huge congratulations to all the boys and girls who successfully completed a Water Smart Award this week at Curran Lifesaving School. 🎉👏

This award focuses on building essential water safety knowledge and skills, helping our swimmers not only grow in confidence in the pool but also learn how to stay safe around water. 🌟

We are so proud of their achievements and the effort they’ve shown — these are skills for life! 💙

It’s been a busy and brilliant week at Curran Lifesaving School!

We’ve had a wave of achievements and exciting firsts that we just had to share:

⭐️Bailey, one of our Junior Assistants, completed his Swimming Teaching Qualification – huge congratulations to him!

⭐️Gráinne renewed her Beach Lifeguard qualification, keeping her skills sharp and ready for the season ahead.

⭐️We welcomed a brand new group of Junior Assistants – 5 pictured here and 4 more boys who somehow managed to miss the photo (don’t worry boys we’ll get you next time).

⭐️Jaxon became the very first child to complete our RLSS WaterSmart classes – a proud milestone for him and for us!

⭐️We also kicked off our first 2-hour monthly First Aid session, back in action since the pool reopened – amazing to see everyone back learning vital skills!

Well done to everyone involved – the future of lifesaving is definitely in great hands!
