We, the family of the late Fiona Sims (RIP), would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us during our recent tragic bereavement.

Thank you to our extended family, friends, and neighbours for your support and prayers, your kind messages of condolence, to those who sent flowers, attended the wake, sent Mass or sympathy cards, and came to the funeral.

A heartfelt thank you to those who brought or sent food to the house, and to all who helped with refreshments. Also, a thank-you to those who assisted in stewarding during the wake.

We offer our sincere thanks to Canon Toner, assisted by Fr. Malachy Conlon, for celebrating such a beautiful Requiem Mass. A warm word of thanks to Dearbhla Dixon for the beautiful singing and music as well as the preparation of the mass booklets, which added so much to the funeral service.

Our sincere thanks also to Mona McEntee and her staff for providing the meal after the funeral, and to St. Patrick’s GFC for the generous use of their premises.

We are truly thankful to Murray’s Funeral Directors for their kindness, support, and the dignified and respectful manner in which all the wake and funeral arrangements were carried out.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgment will be accepted as a heartfelt expression of our appreciation and gratitude to all who supported our family in any way. We will be forever grateful. Please continue to keep those who are also grieving or facing illness at this time in your thoughts and prayers.

𝗠𝗰𝗡𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 – (𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗼. 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗵) March 15, 2026 – Eugene (Gene) passed away peacefully at home in the care of his family. Loving husband of Peggy, devoted father, grandfather and father-in-law of Margaret (Jonathan), Grace & James, Peter (Bronagh), Lauren, Gene & Eimear.

Gene will leave his home 15 Drumlougher Road, Cullyhanna, BT35 0LH on Tuesday 17th March 2026 to St Patrick’s Church, Cullyhanna for 11.30am requiem mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Gene’s home is 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 at all times.

**𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗗𝘂𝗳𝗳𝘆**

𝗗𝘂𝗳𝗳𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮. The sons and grandchildren of the late Patricia Duffy (née Hollywood), Newtownhamilton, wish to thank all those who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement.

Thanks to all those who paid their respects at Patricia’s late home, sent Mass and sympathy cards, and attended the funeral.

Our sincere thanks to Father Kevin McElhennon and Canon Michael Toner for celebrating the Requiem Mass and for their support and compassion at this difficult time. To Father Kevin for his heartfelt homily and to Canon Toner for his many visits whilst Patricia was
unwell at home and in hospital. We are also thankful to Dearbhla Nixon for the beautiful music throughout the Requiem Mass.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Thomas Moley and the team of dedicated carers for looking after Patricia with dignity, respect and compassion at her home over the last number of years. Additional sincere thanks to Dr. Mc Cormack and the nursing staff on Ward Ramone 3, Craigavon Hospital for their kindness and care during Patricia’s recent hospital admission. Thanks also to the district nurses, doctors, allied health professionals and social services at Newtownhamilton Health Centre, in addition to the community palliative care nurses and Marie Curie staff, for their care. Patricia always wanted to remain in her own home—without your support, that would have been impossible.

Thank you to our wonderful friends and neighbours for your support and help throughout the wake and funeral, and especially to the Rushe, Hollywood and Lennon families who quietly
organised so much on our behalf.

Finally, we would like to thank Murray Funeral Directors for their kindness and professionalism in handling the funeral arrangements.

It would be impossible to thank everyone individually. We hope this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our sincere gratitude.

**𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃**

𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘀 (𝗻é𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻), 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲

Fiona passed away peacefully at Sobell House Hospice, Oxford, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday 8th January 2026.

Devoted and dearly loved wife of Nigel, and a loving and much-cherished mother to Siofra and Adam. Beloved daughter of Stephen and the late Nora Mackin.

She will be deeply missed by her heartbroken father Stephen, her siblings Martin, Maureen (Larkin), and Kevin, her sister-in-law Paula, brother-in-law Peter, niece and nephews, and by the extended Sims and Mackin families, relatives, and many friends.

Fiona’s ashes will be at her father Stephen’s home 43 Tullynavall Road, Cullyhanna BT35 0PZ on Saturday 14th February. The family will welcome visitors from 2pm – 10pm.

Funeral mass will be on Sunday 15th February in St Patrick’s Church, Cullyhanna at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Fiona will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

May she rest in peace.

McComb (Nee Dawson) – February 1, 2026, - Helen peacefully passed away in Avila Nursing Home, Bessbrook. Late of 16 Carrickacullion Road, Newtownhamilton, BT35 0RE.

Wife of the late George. Loving partner of Leslie. Cherished mother to Liam and Noel. Treasured grandmother to Andrew, David, Robert, Charlotte and the late Joanne. Cherished mother-in-law of Daiva. Loving sister of Irene (Australia) and the late Alfie, auntie of Fiona and Lorna.

A shuttle bus will be provided both days from the hard shoulder across the road from St Michael’s Church Newtownhamilton from 5pm – 10pm to transport visitors to Helen’s home.

Friends are welcome to call to Helen’s home Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th February from 2pm – 10pm.

Funeral from her home Thursday 5th February to St John’s Church of Ireland Newtownhamilton for 2pm service, followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her family, close friends, neighbours and entire family circle.

Duffy (Née Hollywood), Patricia. 31st January, 2026. Passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Much loved mother of Theo and Eamon. Adored Nana of Caolán and Órlaith. Mother-in-law to Siobhan. Daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Hollywood. Cherished sister to Josie (Lennon), and to the late: Anne (Lloyd); Dinny; Peggy (Magill); and Michael. Patricia also meant a great deal to her extended family.

Patricia will be reposing at her home at 10 Hawthorne Lane, Newtownhamilton on Sunday, 1st February and Monday, 2nd February. Visitors welcome between 11.00am and 10.00pm.

Requiem Mass will take place at St. Michael’s Church (Newtownhamilton) at 11.00am on Tuesday, 3rd February. Patricia will leave her home at 10.30am. Interment will take place in the adjoining churchyard.

Deeply regretted by her entire family circle.

We the family of the late Anthony Byrne wish to express our sincere heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised with us during our recent and unexpected bereavement. We would like to thank our family, friends, neighbours and community for all their support, also those who phoned, messaged, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, brought food, served refreshments and attended the wake and funeral mass. We would like to thank the First Responder’s, Paramedics and P.S.N.I. for their attendance.

We gratefully thank Dr. Quinn, Dr Murray, Dr. Mulholland (retired) and all the staff at Newtownhamilton Health Centre for all their care to Anthony over the years. Also special thanks to Clarkes Chemist for their help over the years.

Sincere thanks to Canon Michael Toner and Fr. Malachy Murphy for the beautiful funeral mass and graveside burial and for calling at the house. We also thank Dearbhla McCoy and Terence Rafferty for their beautiful singing and music.

Thanks for the use of the community centre after the funeral and to Mona McEntee and staff who provided the beautiful food. Thanks to Andrew Stephenson for the grave preparation, to Eamon Murphy for the lightening and Slieveview for the use of the marquee.
