The festive season is certainly upon us!

Our office will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. But our phone lines will be open every day as normal, from 07:00 to 22:00.

Our bereavement and grief hub is now live.

We've been working hard on our hubs over the past few months. We're incredibly grateful that Charley, our work placement from Exeter College, has put together three leaflets describing anticipatory grief, ambiguous loss, and disenfranchised grief are - all of which are available on the hub.

We also talk about grief journeys, because every experience with grief is unique. Some people find thinking of grief as a process can be really helpful; others may not, or may think they're 'grieving wrong' because they're finding they're not following a process. The important thing to remember is that your grief is yours; it belongs to you. There's no right or wrong way to grieve or feel.

And we also have some links to information about lesser known types of grief: parasocial grief; and special interest grief. And we have links to services that may be helpful following a bereavement or in times of grief.

Remembrance Day 2025.

We remember all who served, and continue to serve, in the fight to protect the freedoms we hold dear today.

Service takes many forms. From frontlines to bedsides, extraordinary care has been given in times of conflict. Today, we honour soldiers of all ranks, as well as medics, nurses, and care staff who have given their lives for others, and who continue to serve and protect to this day.

Talking about death and dying can be incredibly hard. Talking about it with children can sometimes feel even harder.

We now have a copy of 'Goodbye Mog' by Judith Kerr, for anyone we support or any of our team to borrow, to help open up conversations around death and dying with young children.

'Preparing children for a family member's death can be incredibly difficult. We hope that this book will help open up these important conversations, if people are finding it difficult to do otherwise' says Joseph, our Office Manager.
