Hey loves and the warmest welcome to all of the new faces who’ve recently joined this space. Thank you so much for being here, I’m really glad you’ve found your way.
With so many new followers across my platforms, it feels like a good moment to reintroduce myself and the heart behind The Devon Birth School.
So, who am I?
I’m Cara, mum to two beautiful girls and the woman behind this space. Motherhood and family life sit at the centre of everything I do, and alongside raising my children, I support women through pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period, some of the most tender and transformative seasons of life.
What do I do?
I support expectant women and mothers through bespoke Hypnobirthing, mindful breastfeeding support and postnatal doula support. My work is rooted in connection, presence and trust, walking alongside women as they prepare for birth, find their way with feeding, and gently adjust to life after their baby arrives.
As a postnatal doula, I offer steady, compassionate support during the fourth trimester, creating space for rest, reflection and emotional grounding, helping mothers feel less alone, more confident and deeply held as they settle into this new chapter.
Why?
Because I believe every woman deserves to feel supported, listened to and honoured throughout her journey into motherhood. Birth and the weeks and months that follow can be beautiful, challenging and overwhelming all at once. When women are given space to be seen and supported without judgement or pressure, something powerful happens. Confidence grows. Trust returns. And motherhood begins to feel less heavy.
Who do I work with?
I support women at many different stages, from pregnancy through to the postnatal months and beyond. First-time mothers, experienced mums, those preparing for birth, navigating feeding, or needing emotional support as they find their footing in early motherhood. Every journey is different, and all are welcome here.
Looking ahead…
This year marks the beginning of a new branch of my nurturing work, as I begin studies towards a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. This feels like a natural extension of the work I already do, deepening my ability to hold emotional space for women as they move through motherhood, matrescence and life transitions.
My intention this year is to continue growing this supportive community, deepening connection and expanding how I can support women, both locally and online. There is so much unfolding, and I’m really excited about what’s ahead.
If you’re new here, thank you for being part of this space. And if you’ve been here for a while, I’m so grateful you’re still walking alongside me.
Love and Freckles, Me x
