We here at Lake View had a wonderful discussion about what Christmas means to us and wondered how many people may be feeling alone over the festive period, we teamed up with our closest home ‘Beechmount’ and surprised them with a visit with 3 of Lake View’s ladies, to deliver some hand made cards written by our amazing residents to theirs… the conversations were flowing, the cheer and pure delight to hand them out and from those that received them was a truly heartwarming moment.
We felt so welcome with their open arms and made some great new friendships and of course it was a great road trip (poor taxi driver couldn’t get a word in)
Thank you Beechmount for having us and we hope you all enjoyed the cards, here’s to wishing each and everyone a merry Christmas!

This morning we spent time decorating our walkers with Christmas decorations, making each one unique to our own personalities.

Our lovely ladies did a fantastic job decorating our Christmas tree, with Dave supervising the situation.
A great sense of pride and achievement, working together, communicating and singing along to Christmas tunes, really getting us into the festive spirit.

Jeanette asked for a cloth to help dust off our display to help keep it looking clean and fresh, she carefully placed everything back and even added her own touch to the display with items from our decoration box. 😊👏

Our newest resident Joan, delighted everyone in the house with some fantastic keyboard tunes and songs we all recognised, the music flowed through the house bringing festive cheer. 🎹😀

Last Month our team took part in Privacy and Dignity training and were delightfully joined by two of our residents, Pat and Dave, who had valuable insight and input, sharing their views on their own experiences. They completed their training and were very pleased to receive there certificates to confirm they had participated. 👏

Our residents have been really enjoying our advent calendar, a yummy treat to eat after breakfast.
Jack spent a little while searching for his door number (they are rather difficult) and devoured the chocolate. 😋

Today is Christmas jumper day and our lovely resident Jennifer gave our Activities Coordinator Gemma a helping hand to set up our pop up jumper swap shop, residents will be able to choose a festive jumper to wear today and throughout the Christmas period, this also ties in with our good deeds and green initiatives as staff, family and friends donated jumpers to top up our rail. 😊🎄⛄️

Sometimes we have to say goodbye to people we have cared for and supported for many years. Knowing a number of the team were attending an event to mark a long life, one of them ensured they had back up tissues. Supporting the team to support families at this time is important in helping us all. 😊

Well Done Karen

Karen passed her level 2 food safety award. Karen has moved from a care role to the kitchen and she always approaches everything she takes on with a desire to do her best. This training was completed with an exam. This is something Karen has not had to do in some time and she was a little nervous about it. However, she passed with very high (almost perfect) score. Well done Karen!
👏👏👏

100 good deeds...
Christine was a welcome helping hand to prepare our Teatime sandwiches, she mentioned she couldn't remember the last time she had made any and and felt a sense of purpose and achievement when everyone enjoyed tucking in.

Martin has always been so helpful around the house, clearing tables and tidying up, but today he stepped into the kitchen to help wash up after lunch.
