Did you know that we offer home start packs to clients who have been living in temporary accommodation and are moving into permanent flats and houses or who may have fled difficult situations? As part of these packs, we try to offer small electrical appliances such as kettles, toasters, and microwaves.

If you have a spare one in clean and working condition, please consider donating it to the Foodbank. Please note that we can only accept donations of these items at our shop in Buckland. Alternatively, you could also buy a new item and drop it off too.

All second-hand items will be PAT tested by one of our trained volunteers before being included in a home start pack to ensure that they are electrically safe.

If you would like any more information, please get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support in all that we offer, and as always, please share our post to spread the word around!

If you're able to donate anything to us at the moment, we'd be grateful for donations of any of the following things. We know things are tough for lots of people at the moment, but any and all donations make a huge difference to our work in supporting residents across the Teignbridge District.

We have a number of collection points across Newton Abbot or you can drop them off directly to us at our shop in Buckland.

If you're not able to donate at the moment, please consider sharing our post as others may be able to donate.

Thank you to everyone who supports us!

We know that sometimes it can be tricky to remember to donate to the Foodbank when you're out shopping, especially if you have the kids in tow!

By supporting us financially, you can help the Foodbank out without having to leave the house. Giving financially means that we can budget better for the year ahead, whilst also allowing us to buy the stock we need for our food parcels, hygiene and cleaning packs and home start packs.

If you're able to support us financially, you can do so via our website (https://www.thatfoodbank.com/blank-2) where you can make a one-off donation or set up a monthly donation. Any donation, whether big or small, is very much appreciated!

As always, if you're not in a position to support us currently, please consider sharing our post.

Thank you!

Having an advent calendar may not seem like a luxury to everyone but for some of our clients it can make all the difference at Christmas time. Children shouldn't have to rely on foodbanks, but for those who do this Christmas season, we'd love to offer them an advent calendar.

If you're able to donate one to us, please drop it in one of our collection points or you can drop it off to us directly at our shop in Buckland. We are going to start giving these out in food parcels from Monday 10th November to ensure that these get to the families who need them before advent begins.

If you can't donate right now, please consider sharing our post. We are grateful for whatever form your support takes.

Are you interested in taking part in a community cooking course?

We are offering a free community cooking course for a small number of people at the Cwtch Hub CIC on Union Street in Newton Abbot. The course will enable you to learn new cooking and baking skills as well as increase your confidence in the kitchen. It will also include a session on preserving food to make your ingredients last longer and reduce food waste.

If you're interested in taking part, please get in contact with us or the Cwtch Hub CIC.

We're going to be attending all three of these events in the coming weeks.

Need some advice or support? Make sure you make a note of these events in your diaries!

Not all of the tins that we provide are easy access (with a ring pull). But how do you safely get into a tin of baked beans or potatoes without a tin opener?

We always try to have a supply of tin openers ready to give out to clients who may need one, however right now our supply is running low.

If you're able to donate one or two of these by dropping them off at one of our collection points, we would be very grateful.

Thank you!
