We've still got an enormous amount of eggs, sprouts, carrots and parsnips from supermarkets. We've also had a lots of pastries, bread and rolls from Lidl this morning so lots to go!

If anyone would like to come and collect some from us at our shop in Buckland, please pop in between 10am and 1pm today (Tuesday) and Wednesday.

If you're able to donate anything to us at the moment, we'd be grateful for donations of any of the following things. We know things are tough for lots of people at the moment, but any and all donations make a huge difference to our work in supporting residents across the Teignbridge District.

We have a number of collection points across Newton Abbot or you can drop them off directly to us at our shop in Buckland.

I paid a return visit to THAT Foodbank and helped Rob North with deliveries last week. It is amazing to see how dedicated their volunteers are and they are so passionate about the work they are doing.

I was saddened to hear that they are much busier this year, with recent weeks being up to 50% busier than the same period last year. I will continue to push the Government on the cost of living crisis and campaign for a better standard of living for all.

Please note our Christmas opening hours for 2025. We are operating next week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during our normal hours (10am-1pm).

We know that there may be clients who are struggling to get referrals for our service due to referral agencies being closed for the Christmas period. If you are having trouble getting in touch with someone, please contact us and we will see what we're able to do.

Thank you to all of the members of Julie's Slimming World classes for contributing towards the Christmas donation. The donation was delivered to us this morning by Mick Cockerham (Devon County Councillor for Newton Abbot South). We're very grateful for the continued support.

We have had loads of fruit and vegetables come in today from the supermarkets that we collect from - too many to give out in our food parcels and we don't want it to go to waste. We've redistributed what we can to other organisations and the community fridges, but we still have lots left.

If you'd like to pop in for a few bits and pieces tomorrow between 10am and 1pm, please come and see us in Buckland.

We know that making ends meet at Christmas is tough for a lot of people, so try and take advantage of these seasonal deals on vegetables, most of which can be prepared and frozen for use at a later date. Be sure to check the expiry dates of these deals (most are only running until Christmas Eve).

Thank you to Stover School who donated a large number of items from our recent wish lists as part of their Christmas food drive. We were very grateful to Deputy Head Mick Mooney and 6th formers Harry, Sophie and Rebecca who not only delivered the donation to us on Friday (in their minibus no less!), but also stayed to help us label and sort the donations ready for packing into emergency food parcels.
