Yesterday, Newton House came together to honour and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice as we marked the 107th anniversary of Armistice Day 🌺

Residents and staff gathered in quiet reflection, observing a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives in service to our country 🇬🇧

We also created a beautiful remembrance display within the home, featuring poppies, poems, and messages of gratitude — a touching tribute to ensure that their courage and sacrifice are never forgotten ❤️

This morning at Newton House, we set off again for a lovely outing to Rouken Glen Garden Centre, where everyone enjoyed a relaxing morning filled with delicious tea, freshly baked cakes, and lots of friendly chatter ☕🍰

We then took a scenic drive in the afternoon to the beautiful po***ck park to see the stunning highland cows, it was beautiful getting the opportunity to interact with nature 🐮🌳

It was the perfect chance to unwind, catch up, and make some new memories together. We can’t wait to see where the minibus will take us next! 🚌✨

Today, we were thrilled to welcome back Jade and Ian from Sense of Nature, who returned with their incredible collection of exotic animals! 🦎

Residents had the chance to meet some truly fascinating creatures — including Tarzan the bearded dragon, Coco the carpet python, Victor the giant Tortoise, and many more scaly, soft, and slithery friends 🐍🐢

Everyone was captivated as Jade and Ian shared fun facts about each animal, from their natural habitats to their unique behaviors. There were plenty of smiles (and a few brave moments!) as residents had the opportunity to touch, hold, and interact with the animals up close 🥰

A huge thank you to Sense of Nature for bringing such joy and wonder to our community once again — it was an unforgettable experience for all! 🌿💚

Today, we were delighted to welcome back the wonderful Neilston strings Ukulele Band to Newton House! 🎵💛

The group filled our home with the joyful sounds of live music, performing a fantastic selection of songs that had our residents singing along, tapping their feet, and smiling from ear to ear. The ukulele tunes created such a lively and heartwarming atmosphere — it was a real treat for everyone! 🎤✨

A huge thank-you to the Neilston Strings for sharing their time and talent with us once again. Our residents truly loved every moment, and we can’t wait for your next visit! 💕🎶

Today, our trusty minibus made its cheerful return to Newton House, full of smiles and happy faces after a wonderful trip to The Lanes Bowling at Silverburn! 🚌💫

Our residents had an absolutely superb time showing off their bowling skills, sharing plenty of laughter, and enjoying some friendly competition 🎳

It was lovely to see everyone cheering each other on and celebrating those well-earned strikes and spares! 🎉

🏴Celebrate St Andrew’s Day at Newton House! 🏴

Join us on Sunday 30th November as we mark Scotland’s National Day with two special events:

☕ 2:30pm – 3:30pm: Enjoy a Scottish-themed tea party in our Café, with delicious bakes and treats. Our lovely resident Betty will be sharing her own Scottish poetry – the perfect way to toast the occasion with a dram (or two!) 🥃

🎶 4:00pm – 4:30pm: The wonderful Tam the Piper will be visiting Newton House, filling our lounges with the stirring sounds of the bagpipes.

Everyone is welcome to join us for an afternoon of Scottish pride, poetry, and plenty of cheer! 💙

We were delighted to welcome back the talented Roland Russell, who returned to Newton House today for another fantastic afternoon of live entertainment! 🎤✨

Roland treated us to a beautiful selection of musical numbers from classic movies and beloved theatre shows, filling the room with nostalgia, laughter, and singalong moments. 🎭🎵

It was a truly enjoyable performance that brought smiles to everyone in attendance — thank you to all who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special! 💫

We can’t wait to welcome Roland back again soon for another unforgettable show. 💖

✨ Remember, Remember the 5th of November! ✨

Residents at Newton House marked Guy Fawkes Night with a wonderful low-noise and safe firework display in our cosy café garden. The evening sky was filled with gentle bursts of colour — streams of gold, silver, and crimson lighting up the night, creating a truly magical atmosphere 🎆🎇

Many of our residents watched in awe, sharing fond memories of attending bonfire nights with their families over the years. The display sparked plenty of smiles, stories, and laughter — a lovely reminder of cherished traditions and togetherness ❤️

On Monday, we were kindly invited by Golf in Society to an Open Day at Golf-It in Riddrie, and what an incredible day it was! ⛳️

Our residents had an absolute blast taking part in a variety of fun golf and putting activities suited for all abilities. The smiles, laughter, and friendly competition made it a truly memorable experience for everyone ❤️

A special shoutout to our wonderful resident Liz, who showed great skill and determination — and was delighted to take home a medal for her hard work and effort! 🏅

We’d like to extend a massive thank you to the amazing holf-in team for their warm hospitality, kindness, and encouragement. Opportunities like this mean so much to our residents, allowing them to reconnect with much-loved pastimes and enjoy new experiences together ⛳️
