🌿 A Heartfelt Visit to Willowbrook Hospice 🌿

This morning, Lisa and Nikki had the pleasure of visiting Willowbrook Hospice’s Open Day. We were warmly welcomed and given a tour, where we learned more about the wonderful support and facilities available to families.

We even enjoyed the most amazing hand massage from the lovely Holistic Therapy Team while relaxing in the peaceful therapy room — such a calming experience!

Today truly showed us that Willowbrook is so much more than the stigma of death. It’s a place of comfort, creativity, connection, and care — offering spaces to relax, unwind, be social, and find peace.

A huge thank you to everyone at Willowbrook for inviting us and for the incredible work you do every single day for those in need. 💜

🎄✨ Christmas Memorial Service – Thursday 11th December ✨🎄

Our Christmas Memorial Service is fast approaching, and we’d love for you to join us on Thursday 11th December at 6pm at All Saints Church, Newton-le-Willows.

It’s a lovely evening to come together, light a candle, and remember those we miss — especially at this time of year. 💖

We’re really excited to have two talented young singers from Hope Academy joining us to share their beautiful voices during the service. 🎶

Everyone is welcome — whether you’re coming to remember someone special or just want to take a quiet moment in the run-up to Christmas. 🌟

Today, Lisa had the honour of attending the Remembrance Parade on behalf of Merrony & Kynaston.
We were proud to lay a wreath in tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It was a moving and meaningful occasion, bringing the community together to remember and honour all who served and gave so much for our freedom.

We will remember them. ❤️🌺

Introducing Caring with Confidence

At Dignity Funerals, we believe that care doesn’t end with a goodbye - it begins with how we support those who care every day.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Hospice UK to launch Caring with Confidence: a CPD-accredited training programme designed to empower nursing home staff with the tools, insight and emotional resilience needed to support grieving families and residents, and for themselves.

Through free, locally delivered training sessions, we’re helping care professionals feel confident, informed and supported - because no one should feel alone after a death, especially those who care for others.

🌺 **Honouring Remembrance Day** 🌺

As Remembrance Day draws near, our hearts turn to those who gave so much so that we could live in peace ❤️🇬🇧

In their honour, our funeral vehicles are now adorned with poppies — a simple but heartfelt way to show our gratitude and remembrance 🙏🌹

We’ll be taking a quiet moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks to all who served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Please join us in wearing your poppy proudly and keeping their memory alive. ✨

⭐️ Meet the team ⭐️

Ebony Ologbose- Funeral Director

Recently I have become a funeral director, before this I was a funeral service arranger. I am very proud to have served for the past 3 years.

I chose this career as over the past few years, I experienced the unimaginable — I lost both of my parents in a very short space of time. That chapter of my life changed me forever. Through this time I found that I could turn grief into purpose. I saw first-hand how important it is to feel supported, understood, and cared for during life’s most difficult moments. It was that experience that led me to the funeral industry. Today, I’m proud to share that I’ve joined this field with one mission — to walk alongside families in their time of loss, and to honour every life with dignity, compassion, and meaning.

This isn’t just a career choice for me — it’s deeply personal. If I can help even one family feel less alone, or bring a sense of peace when it's needed most, then I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Outside of work I am a busy Mum to a very energetic 6 year old. Our weekends consist of everything football, yes I am certainly that football mum!

My favourite way to unwind is packing the car up and going out on adventures with my little boy and family.

Something people may not know about me: I am a qualified nursery practitioner

One of my favourite quote's:

'You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice'

Sadly this is so heartbreakingly true 💔

Just lately we are having more and more drivers on the roads being impatient and trying to push in on the Funeral Cortège’s in between the Hearse and the Limousines with bereaved family members in, and even on funerals with our horses too.

This is happening to the point where accidents have nearly been caused because someone just wants to cut in or to cut through.

I appreciate we drive slower, but this is someone’s final journey, and this is done out of respect.

Whether this makes you 30 seconds, one minute or two minutes late for where you need to be, think about that person who has passed and the families that are following.

A final journey is so precious

Could I ask everyone for some help at this very difficult time....

Paying Our Respects

If you see a hearse, could you stop, stand for a moment as it passes, perhaps take off your cap, and bow your head?

we wondered if we could revive an old tradition that would show people that their loss is noticed and shared by us all?

It would mean the world to families in a time of sadness.

Please if you see a hearse at a junction please stop and allow some of the following cars to also exit the junction. On most cases this is the family behind following the hearse.

It only makes your Journey slightly longer but means the world to families in sure different times. Thank you 🙏🙏
