🧵🎄 Sewing Christmas Stockings at Rekindle!🎄🧵

What a fantastic session today with everyone getting involved to create and decorate their own Christmas stockings, each one totally unique and full of personality! ✨
Many young people are already planning to use theirs as Christmas gifts. One client said:

“It saves me money and time on wrapping!” 🎁💬

We used our donated materials and sewing machine, and we can’t thank our donors enough. Your kindness gives young people the chance to learn real-life skills, get creative, and feel proud of what they make ❤️

The vibes were super cosy today — we even enjoyed The Holiday playing in the background while we sewed 🎬❄️

And the festive fun doesn’t stop here!

🌟Looking Back on 2025 at Rekindle - Welcoming Welshpool🌟

As we come to the end of the year, we’ve been reflecting on all the amazing activities, opportunities, and growth that has been made possible thanks to our incredible funders and partners 💛

This year, funding from PAVO allowed us to extend our services to Welshpool, giving even more young people access to a safe, creative and supportive space. We’re so grateful to Gwen at Feathers for welcoming us into her wonderful venue — the perfect place to collaborate, create, and connect 🙌

Since launching sessions in Welshpool, we’ve:
✨ Welcomed new young people from the local area
🚍 Seen our Newtown young people grow in confidence using public transport to join us
🏙️ Helped young people explore a new town and community
🎱 Enjoyed fantastic facilities — pool table, table tennis, games console, outdoor space, music, and plenty of room to chill
🎨 Continued our usual creative and wellbeing sessions in a more flexible, youth-friendly environment

And a reminder: you don’t have to join the activity to come along — you’re always welcome just to use the space, hang out, chat, or unwind.

We’re excited to keep growing our presence in Welshpool and hope to welcome even more young people in 2026 🌟

We’re excited to share our brand new activities poster for the Winter Quarter — December, January & February! 🎨🎮🧩
There’s loads to look forward to — creative projects, games, trips, and wellbeing sessions to help brighten the colder months. 🌟

Just a little reminder that Rekindle activities will take a short winter break for two weeks in December, and we’ll be back the week commencing 5th January 💛

Keep an eye on our socials for weekly updates, session reminders, and highlights from our groups in Newtown and Welshpool.

A huge thank you to Mark from Cambrian First Aid for delivering brilliant first aid sessions this week 🙌
Mark volunteered his time to train our youth volunteers and young people attending Rekindle on both Tuesday and Thursday, helping them learn practical skills that could save lives ❤️‍🩹

He kept everyone engaged, made learning fun, and brought such a lovely, positive attitude — the young people really took to him! 🌟

🕯️Remembrance Day – 11th November🕯️

Last week at Rekindle, we explored different ways to remember loved ones. From Day of the Dead crafts to poppy-making and decorating photo frames to celebrate connection and memory. 💐💀✨

Today, we marked Remembrance Day with an 11-second silence to reflect and remember.
The first photo shows a beautiful handmade poppy created in last week’s session — part of our crafts exploring remembrance and connection across different cultures. ❤️

🤍 The white or silver poppy, adopted by the Peace Pledge Union in the 1930s, represents peace and remembers all victims of war — a reminder to hope for a future without violence.

Everyone experiences remembrance differently — it’s okay if today brings up emotions, memories, or mixed feelings. Take time for yourself, and reach out for support if you need it 💛
