This morning was all about community connections ❤
Newtown college students popped by for a chat and some games. We will be working with the students over the next few months doing Christmas arts and some gardening.

Post lunch poppy art before our monthly Sunday service led by Newtown Evangelical Church with a positive message and rousing hymn singing. Lovely hymns chosen by the residents. Thank you all for visiting us again.

Some 🎃spooky 🎃 little visitors popped by this afternoon.
All participants had to be checked in by receptionist Gladwys and checked out again 😊 . Happy Halloween to all.

When the concert comes to us 🎼🎶 we welcomed Cathy the talented pianist all the way over from Italy on her UK tour. We were treated to some Welsh pieces and marked the up and coming Remembrance Day with a good old singalong to The White Cliffs of Dover and We'll Meet Again . And even a few cheeky Christmas 🎄🎅tunes to get us in the spirit.

Wild Welsh Wool visited us for hands on peg looming this afternoon. Thanks Sharon, it was very relaxing, theraputic, tactile & a confidence booster as residents felt a sense of achievement.
Other residents admired the finished article, made of jacob sheep fleece. And it'll make a wonderful sensory comfort item.

Continuing the autumn theme this morning as we used pumpkins, road side foliage & fresh flowers to create seasonal arrangements.
Residents had an enjoyable time and remarked on the novel idea & how unique each design is.

🎶 What a wonderful afternoon!

Our residents were delighted by the toe-tapping, hand-clapping and singing along with the fabulous Monty Folk Band. A huge thank you to the band for bringing such joy and uplifting energy to our home. Monty Folk

From old favourites to cheerful new tunes, the music lifted every heart and filled the room with smiles and laughter 🌟 Moments like this remind us of the power of togetherness, music and community.

Monty Folk raised the roof this afternoon across all floors with residents toe tapping, hand clapping, singing & dancing along.

And a special room visit by Amie playing her beautiful harp, plus we had a very special version of Calon Lan on the ground floor. Monty Folk

Autumn leaves are falling & we made good use of them in this morning's activity! Residents commented that it was "very therapeutic". There was a real autumnal aroma from freshly gathered leaves, ferns & conifer.
