“Wow! What a fantastic visit Nia had to Builth Wells Primary School yesterday. School staff were doing an amazing job of using visuals supports, such as a choice board, core board and now and next board with a pupil.

The class have implemented a total communication approach, which has supported this pupil to communicate with adults and understand what was happening next in his daily routine. Da Iawn!

Fran had a fantastic visit to Welshpool Church in Wales Primary School yesterday where the fabulous team, Karen and Becs, showed me how they have been using Colourful Semantics to support the receptive and expressive language development of the children in their class through fun games.

Karen and Becs have made the classroom such a calm, relaxing and engaging environment, where they follow the children’s lead and provide them with lots of opportunities for interaction and communication - it is perfect for learning 🤩

Claire and Fran shared this important key message for communication in their first session of in Newtown Integrated Family Centre today with 13 fabulous babies and their mums:

“Our best place is face to face!” 😊

We spent lots of time face to face today in fun games, like Peekaboo, and songs - our favourite was Row Row the Boat 🫣

Watch this video from Teulu Cymru for more information about why it’s important to get face to face with your child:
