NT LIFE Recovery College NT LIFE Recovery Colleges is for people aged 18+ primarily living in the North Tyneside area with lived experience of mental ill-health.

Although as we focus on wellbeing and coping tools and techniques anyone can benefit. To assist us in keeping our page a safe space for all please follow this guidance when interacting on this page:

The sheer kindness of the canny folk of Shields and beyond, buying gifts for total strangers from the Gift Tree, is absolutely heartwarming and we are so grateful to be part of this community ❤️

Silent Night, NT LIFE style 😁

Written by the guys during Games Day, it was great to see everyone joining in to sing it (and not caring that they had no time to practice). It just shows what being around like minded people can do for your anxiety levels ❤️

On the 12th Day of Christmas, NT LIFE gave to me…. a Christmas Party!! 🥳

Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, participants, referrers and collaborators for making this a fantastic year - we hope we’ve done you all proud 😁

We’re closed now, until the 5th of January, for a well earned break to recharge our very worn out batteries so that we come back on top form for the exciting year ahead in 2026.

We did it - most of us made it through, limping to the finishing line 🙈🤣

Thank you to Henderson magic for coming along and wowing us with his brilliant wizardry 🪄🧙‍♂️

And thank you to Sambuca Cassia for the amazingly delish pizzas 🍕

We’ve had a fabulous December, making memories, welcoming new participants into the fold and hopefully making you chuckle and feel a bit brighter along the way ❤️

Day 11, the last day before the last day 😁

Hot chocs with squirty cream, marshmallows and a Cadbury Twirl…. This isn’t just any hot chocolate, this is NT LIFE hot chocolate ☕️ 😋

Eeh mind, we’ve laughed today…. Not sure whether everything was funny or if hysteria has set in 🤪

We’ve chatted, laughed, played Christmas bingo (Jackie the ledge’s celebrations were boss!! 🤣), sung our NT LIFE 2025 Christmas song 🎶 (you’ll get to hear it soon….) and played Santa’s sack (you’ll had to be there 🙈)

All in all, we had a fab day and laughed ourselves stupid, but as I always say, laughter is the best medicine 💊 😂

Tomorrow is our last day - are you ready to paaaaarrrrtttyy?! 🥳🎉🙌❤️

Day whatever of NT LIFE’s 793 Days of Christmas 😮‍💨 and it was Christmas Wrapping Day!! 🎁

Oh. My. Goodness. We have a new ‘bestest crafterer’ at NT LIFE…. me!! It’s me!! Julie!!!! I am absolutely amazing!! Who even knew?! Well not me, that’s for sure coz I’m generally a tad lacking in patience for such shenanigans 🙄🙈

However, today I am a craft master (as can be seen in the video evidence below 👇

That’s a wrap (boom boom 🤭😂) for crafting, as tomorrow is Hot Chocs Day and Thursday is our spectacular Christmas Party Day 🥳🎉

Honestly, thank you to North Shields 800 for putting this parade on for us on Friday evening!! What a way to welcome us to Howard Street!! 😂

Well…. It might not have actually been for us, but it passed right past our door so we’re claiming it 😁

Eeh I’m slacking on my photos of our NT LIFE’s 12 Days of Christmas - it’s hard when we’re not crafting🙈😂

I literally have 1 pic of our Jingle Jangle Let’s Untangle drop in on Thursday AND IT’S OF ME!! 😂 Eeh well it’s the first time I’ve been a winner this year so needed a pic of me with my prize 😁

Today we had Jingle Jammies and Movie Day, where we basically sat in our pj’s all day, watching a Christmas film. We watched ’The Christmas Chronicles’, which was just the right mix of cheese and Christmasness 🧀🎅 Guess who we got pics of today…. me and Jess!! Working super hard!!

It’s a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it 🤷‍♀️

Lush job today everyone for getting into the spirit of it and wearing your pj’s too - you rock 🤘

NT L.I.F.E is the Recovery College for North Tyneside.

Recovery Colleges offer educational courses about mental health and recovery which are designed to increase students’ knowledge and skills and to help them feel more confident in self-management of their own mental health and well-being.

For a person, with lived experience of mental ill health, this may help them to take control and become an expert in their own well-being and recovery and move on with their life despite their mental health challenges. This will hopefully help them to achieve or work towards whatever is meaningful in their lives.

Delivered in a safe and friendly community setting, courses and workshops are co-produced and designed by individuals who have lived experience of challenges with their own mental health, and who want to pass on their LIFE learning, skills and knowledge to help others.
