This week we said a heartfelt thank you to Bill Carr, who has stepped down as Chair of EveryDay Homes after many years of dedicated service.
Bill first joined us as a Trustee of Age UK North Tyneside in 2017 and later became Chair of EveryDay Homes, bringing his extensive expertise from a varied career in the Housing Sector. During his tenure, he oversaw some significant changes across Age UK North Tyneside, including the opening of Havelock Place โ the first and only extra care scheme in North Tyneside designed specifically for people living with dementia.
Bill is also celebrating a milestone birthday this year, so naturally we marked the occasion with cake and warm wishes! ๐
He now steps down to spend more time with his family, and we wish him every happiness in this next chapter.
Thank you, Bill, for everything ๐

At Crossgates, itโs the relationships between our residents and care team that make all the difference.
Michael, one of our residents, is supported every day by our dedicated colleague Nicola. Her compassion, patience, and kindness have had a truly positive impact on both Michael and his family.
Michaelโs daughter, Mandy, recently shared this lovely message with us:
โI wanted to take the time to share some very positive feedback about one of your care workers at Crossgates, Nicola. Nicola is truly a real caring lady and an absolute asset โ not only to Crossgates, but to the organisation as a whole. The compassion, patience, and genuine kindness she shows to my dad makes an incredible difference to both his care and his overall wellbeing.
I cannot fully express the happiness I feel when my dad talks about Nicola. Anyone who knows my dad will understand how significant this is โ positivity does not come naturally to him, which makes the fact that he speaks so warmly and happily about her all the more meaningful. That alone speaks volumes about the impact she has.
Knowing that my dad is supported by someone who treats him with such dignity, warmth, and respect gives me great reassurance. Nicola clearly goes above and beyond in her role, and I believe she deserves recognition for the outstanding care she provides.
Please pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to Nicola. She truly makes a difference, and we feel very fortunate that she is part of my dadโs care team.โ
Thank you Nicola for the incredible care and kindness you show every day ๐

Last Friday, some of our team went down to Birmingham to the Great British Care Awards for the National Finals of the Celebrating Excellence in Care Awards.
After winning the Home Care Registered Manager Award regionally, we were proud to support the Head of EveryDay Care and Support, Kerry Parker, at the national level!
While she did not win the category at the National level, advancing to this level of recognition is an incredible achievement, and we are proud of all the work that Kerry has done to qualify, showcasing person-centred care and a 'well-led' service.
