🚨 Flu levels are exceptionally high right now 🚨

The NHS has reported that flu cases are higher than they’ve ever been at this time of year, with over 2,600 people a day in hospital with flu. That’s huge and completely avoidable for many.

If you or a loved one are eligible for the flu jab and haven’t had it yet, now really is the time.
The flu vaccine:
✔️ Reduces your risk of becoming seriously unwell
✔️ Helps protect older people and those with health conditions
✔️ Takes pressure off already stretched NHS services

Working in home care, we see first-hand how rising fuel costs are affecting older people in our community. Too many are having to limit themselves to one heated room just to get through winter — and no one should ever have to live like that.

At Support Me at Home, we always go the extra mile when someone is struggling. Over the years we’ve helped arrange boiler repairs, supported clients to get new energy-efficient boilers installed, and made sure people are receiving every benefit and entitlement available to them. Sometimes a bit of practical help can make all the difference.

We’re sharing this because fuel poverty is real, it’s local, and it’s hurting the people who least deserve it. We stand with organisations like National Energy Action in calling for better support for vulnerable households.

Please check in on neighbours, friends, and family this winter — a simple visit or phone call could genuinely change someone’s day. ❤️

The cost of heating a home to a healthy temperate is out of reach for many older people, with some households resorting to only heating one room 🏠

Nobody should have to ration their heating. This we’re joining National Energy Action to call for deeper financial support for households in fuel poverty.
