On Wednesday evening we had the pleasure of visiting the lowdown Youth Advisory Board (YAB). ✌️ We asked the group of young leaders to help with development of our new misogyny workshop. It is crucial to have the input from young people in new material so that we know how to pitch content. We covered various aspects within the theme including statistics, terminology, acceptable/unacceptable language, scenarios, gender stereotypes, social media, how to challenge and report anything that makes people feel uncomfortable and respect. 🤲
The group tried out the various activities, gave feedback and ideas from their point of view, shared what they’ve come across online or in person. They advised how we could adapt and edit the content for better suitability.
A huge thank you to the young people involved. SAV teacher Anna Letts was impressed with their maturity, dedication, critical analysis skills and ability to provide constructive feedback. It was a really valuable experience. Thank you to Lowdown YAB lead, Rebecca, for working with us on this.
