An experiment to explain mummification!
A is keen to know more about the ancient Egyptians. He carved faces into two apples. The control is in an empty jar and the other is in a solution of salt and bicarbonate of soda. We are looking to see if the apple in the powdered mixture is mummified, we expect the moisture to be drawn out of the apple so it will be dehydrated. This process desiccation.

Last week I lost a chicken! Now, if this chicken had feathers and a heartbeat, I could understand but it was packaged by Morrisons!! I sometimes take the dinner ingredients to work so i can prepare everything for when i get home. I took a chicken but it hasn't been seen since! I've searched everywhere! So, all I can say is if your child bought hone a raw chicken , I apologise. If you are one of my many vegan/ vegetarian families - I apologise even more! If your child ever brings home a leg of lamb - cook it and invite me for tea!!
