🎁 💝 😍 Every child we support will have a gift to open this festive period. This is thanks to incredible generosity from donors like Amanda Gibson

For another year running, Amanda has gone above and beyond, coordinating with her friends to ensure that every single person we support through our food aid service received a gift.

Every child. Every adult. Every family.

This has taken months of thoughtful planning, from carefully organising items by age range and gender to making sure no one was missed.

The care and intention behind this generosity has been truly extraordinary.

We are genuinely blown away.

140 bags. 140 moments of care for families in our community.
This year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of families turning to SCCYC Waterside Connect for food aid and support.

Behind each number is a household doing their best in challenging circumstances.

Thanks to the generosity of Bhangals Construction Consultants Ltd and My Build Estimate Ltd, we were able to prepare and distribute 140 bags filled with essential items to families across Northamptonshire.

Each bag represents care, dignity, and reassurance that families are not facing these challenges alone.

We are truly grateful to everyone involved for standing alongside our community when it matters most.

Many of the families we support are caring for babies and very young children.
Alongside the challenges they are already facing, meeting the everyday needs of a newborn or infant can feel overwhelming.

That is why access to essential baby items makes such a meaningful difference.

Thanks to the generosity of Basics
Northampton, we have been able to provide much-needed essentials to families with tiny babies. This support has been especially timely following a recent referral of a family with a very young baby.

The children learned about Sikh/Core Equality Values such as volunteering to help others, oneness of all faiths, socio-equality, gender equality, improving your own Mind-Body-Soul, What happens in the Gurdwara, and the Sikh identity.

There’s nothing quite like the sound of the dhol, a traditional drum loved for its uplifting rhythm, to ignite a room.Our incredible dhol players opened the 2025 Northamptonshire Community Foundation Awards with such joy and energy. They brought tradition and western culture together beautifully, especially when the beat joined the iconic Freed from Desire a moment that had the whole room smiling and tapping along. It set the perfect tone for an evening celebrating charities making a real difference across Northamptonshire.The night also marked a meaningful milestone: 50 years of community foundations supporting neighbourhoods across the UK.If you’ve ever wanted to learn the dhol yourself, send us a message and we’ll share details of our learning sessions starting in the new year.

Imagine the difference one gift could make to a family who’s struggling this festive period.

As we move into the Christmas season, we’re inviting our community to help us bring a little joy to children, adults, and families who may otherwise go without.

At SCCYC Waterside Connect, we’re collecting new gifts, as well as items that are barely used, used only a few times, and in excellent condition.

If they’re clean, safe, and looking for a new home, they can make Christmas feel special for someone who needs it.

🎁 Gifts that make a difference:
For children: books, small toys, creative sets, puzzles, games
For adults: toiletries, warm socks, gloves, scarves, blankets
For families: board games, family treats, gift sets, festive biscuit tins

Your generosity can bring comfort, dignity, and a moment of celebration to someone’s Christmas.
