ADHD Matters

ADHD Matters We are running a provision for families affected by ADHD across Northamptonshire under the Autism Concern banner "ADHD Matters".

We aim to provide Information Advice and Guidance on every aspect of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and its accompanying conditions, across the county of Northamptonshire, for families and professionals alike. Our core aim is to provide information, advice and guidance through the freephone helpline, by e-mail, social networking and face to face. We would also like to hear from you with ideas on raising awareness in the community. We also support a befriending network among parents promoting self help and empowerment through support groups and social networking. We link into play sessions for children aged 0 - 12 years diagnosed with or suspected of having ADHD. Siblings are also welcome and it is a chance for the whole family to talk to others in similiar situations while the children play. For more difficult problems we can arrange one to one support, face to face. We also help professionals and teachers with information and provide training in many aspects of ADHD tailored to suit specific needs.

Our Northampton team had a great day at Northampton Active in the town park. They invited families along to hunt for AEM rocks, decorate their own and take them home to hide.

Over 100 rocks were painted and using they hope to raise awareness of what we do as a charity across the East Midlands.

If anyone finds a rock they can search the hashtag and learn all about our 50th year and the amazing things we have been a part of!

PLEASE READ!

ADHD Matters is supported by a contract commissioned by the NCC unfortunately this contract may finish at the end of July. We are in talks with the commissioner but we would like quotes from parents/carers who have used the service why they feel this ADHD specific service is important.
