Look at all these INCREDIBLE brands 👏🏼

I am SO PROUD to be part of a world where my product exists along side other fantastic businesses, all creating something better for women and the world! 🥹

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

I have said it before and I’ll say it again, vitamins and supplements SHOULDN'T exist! 👀

In an ideal world, we'd get all our nutrients from food, ideally a varied diet combined with a healthy lifestyle would mean that our bodies got everything they need to thrive 🥕🫐🥦

Unfortunately, our society and way of living doesn't make that easy or at all possible for most!

That's why, after my Missed Miscarriage in 2021 I had a passion to understand what women need to thrive and best support our bodies, whatever life throws at us!

So with lots of help from the top leading nutritionist and doctors, Her.9 created the highest quality women's supplements that actually can be absorbed by your body, that contain 18 ingredients all in one, and that support you For Life - from your first period, through pregnancy & into menopause and beyond 🙌🏼

I am beyond honoured to be alongside these incredible brands all trying to change the world! Thank you for creating such a space for us all to be recognised

Oh Heyyy 👋🏼

We’ve felt there’s an update well over due on this account as I, Hattie, have been “On Maternity Leave” now for a year 😅 *fastest year of my life btw*

So this last year has shown us that we love supporting families but ultimately we need to support our own too. Therefore we’ve made the decision to stop Wavelength Hypnobirthing Classes for the foreseeable.

I, however will continue to be Lead for the NHS Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership, working with families and birthers alongside the NHS to better the maternity service. So please follow and the FB page for access to information and opportunities to make change through having your voice heard 💜 my inbox is always open!

For those of you looking for fantastic Hypnobirthing classes in Northamptonshire, check out Kristina is a wonderful friend of mine and an absolute legend at all things Birth! 🧡

And finally, along this crazy journey over the past year or so, I’ve also become CEO and Co-Founder of 💕 The award winning and highest quality supplements on the marketing, using science and clinically backed technology, whilst actively fighting for more funding and research into women’s health to break the gender health gap!

You won’t find a better Prenatal Supplement out there 🙌🏼 💊

Thanks for all reading this far and for your support and love for Wavelength over the past 4+ years! 🥹

It’s been a blast!! 💥

"And the cord was around his neck..."

"It's a good thing I was in hospital/had a caesarean because THE CORD WAS AROUND HIS NECK"

Have you ever heard stories like that?

Let me put my dark glasses on, and steeple my fingers and ask...

What if I told you....

That the cord being around your baby's neck was EXPECTED?

Think of all the boogying around in there they do. Wouldn't it be a bit weird if it wasn't looped around them?

What if I told you...

It's pretty common. It happens in around 1/3 of births, and it's not usually a cause for concern.

What if I told you...

It's not strangling your baby. He's not breathing with his lungs yet, remember. And it's coated in Whartons jelly to protect it even if it's knotted.

What if i told you it's a GOOD thing!

Around the neck is infinitely better than around the head! It would get very squashed there as he moved down and out.

Please see the commments for a l i n k to more information about this :D

Visualisation - sounds a bit airy fairy? 🧚🏼‍♀️

Well actually when practicing visualisation, it creates new neural pathways by thinking about something in a purposeful way to expose our brains to it 🧠

We subconsciously pull on memories and thoughts we have already stored when faced with scenarios or new encounters 👀

and if the only thing the brain can find is negative and scary things because thats all we have encountered or heard of, then this will trigger our fight or flight response, creating adrenaline and the stress hormone. All of which is counterproductive for giving birth. 😥

Visualisation is made possible by another area of the brain within the limbic system- the hippocampus. This is where our memories are stored and ALSO the part we use to imagine the future. THE SAME PART!

So the more you practise creating these new neural pathways, the less likely you are to go into fight or flight mode and therefore be full of adrenaline which stops oxytocin being used effectively to make your uterus contract and get your baby earth-side 🌎

… fascinating stuff isn’t it 💁🏻‍♀️

What’s the SECRET?! 🤔

Well we want you to know, and it’s no secret really.. it’s just science! 🧬

Hypnobirthing and to having a positive birth is based on this principle..

FEAR = TENSION = PAIN

Yup.. that’s basically it!

Now we apply this principle to non-birth scenarios all the time!!

“Relax it will hurt less” “take a deep breath” .. these are phrases we hear a lot, weather it’s talking about something medical or even exercising!

So why is it any different for birth?

Well, it’s not!

But I tell you what is different, your Auntie Barbra has told you how horrendous giving birth to baby Gary was and now whenever you think about birth you tense up and recoil with just the idea of it! 😬

💡 light bulb moment 💡

So Hypnobirthing works to reprogram your brain by replacing these terrible stories you heard or the awful scenes from one born every minute you’ve seen, with FACTS & SCIENCE 🙌🏼

And when you do that you break the FEAR = TENSION = PAIN cycle and open up the opportunity for a much more positive experience, there’s no stopping you now 🙌🏼

It’s super important to me to make a difference where I can, always has been, whatever role I’ve taken in life.

And I’m so honoured to have held the role of Chair for the Northamptonshire’s Maternity Voice Partnership for over a year now 🤗

Meaning I work directly with the midwives and maternity service as a whole.

The MVP is designed to bridge the gap between those using the service, pregnant people, and the service itself.

So when you book onto our course you have access to the most up to date information on what’s happening in your hospital 🙌🏼

Can I have a drink when breastfeeding? 🍹🎄

It is true that alcohol gets into your breast milk, because anything that gets into your blood-stream can get into your milk. It takes around 2 hours per unit of alcohol to leave your blood-stream, and so the same can be said of your milk. There's no need to pump and dump to remove the alcohol, it leaves your milk as it leaves your blood.
Some sources will recommend not breastfeeding during these 2 hours, so offering your baby a feed, then having a drink, and then by the time baby wants to feed again it will have left you milk. It goes on its own. But babies can't tell the time!
Some will say if you are sober enough to drive, you are sober enough to breastfeed.
But if you delve deeper into the research, the conclusion is that the amount of alcohol that actually reaches the baby is absolutely miniscule. Several alcoholic drinks makes your milk about as alcoholic as fresh orange juice. It really poses very little risk to the baby at all.
So it is fine to enjoy a drink or two at Christmas and continue to breastfeed! I would personally suggest you do not have too many. You will be a total lightweight after at least 9 months of abstaining through pregnancy, and it is important you are safe to look after your baby. Also parenting a baby with a hangover is definitely not worth it!
Bed sharing is not advised with any amount of alcohol as it can make you less aware. So please do not share a sleep space with a baby if you have had an alcoholic drink until you are fully sober. If you have a baby who will only bed share then perhaps this is a year to abstain from alcohol.

What I’ve learnt from the past 3 months of being a parent to two..

🤍 it goes SO fast - I know people say it, and it only feels like a short while ago Walter was a little baby, but this time when my time has been split between loving two, it has gone ultra fast!

🤍 therefore, embrace it - everything is a phase and nothing is *that* important compared to loving your baby (the washing can wait!)

🤍 Don’t worry - worry steals your peace and is completely unhelpful in actually dealing with anything

🤍 You will need some help, and that’s okay, we were never meant to do this solo and having a network of support is vital. This also means that you should ask for help, don’t power through

And finally, well done if you’ve got this far..

🤍The absolute best thing you can do for your baby is be well. Whatever it takes, make sure you are good 🙌🏼

⚡️Pain ⚡️

This is something most people think about with the topic of child birth.. so, let’s break it down and go way back..

Did you know that before the Victorian era women were not meant to enjoy s*x 😳

In fact it was a societal perception that women had a duty to provide s*x for their men but it wasn’t mean to be pleasurable for them.. And guess what, it wasn’t 😣

(And therefore we only fully discovered the cl****is in 1998! 1998!!!!!)

So why are we telling you this? 👀

Well you obviously know that those before the s*xy victorians were wrong and s*x most certainly can be and SHOULD BE pleasurable for women 💦

It only wasn’t good for them because they had been told it wasn’t ever meant to be! 🤦🏼‍♂️

Now this principle is exactly the same for Pain during Childbirth…

We are told, inherently that giving birth is and will be painful! But what if that’s wrong too? 🤔

So baby is opening the cervix, moving into the va**na, and potentially touching ‘theee spot’ 😳

And therefore it’s been known that woman can experience or**sm during delivery and in less westernised cultured this is more prevalent 🤯

So, we believe that educating people on not just necessarily the possibility of pleasure during labour and delivery but the fact is doesn’t ALWAYS mean pain, allows more birthers to view their births as joyful experiences 🥰

A shift in mindset may even help to decrease the need for medical interventions to manage said “pain” 🤗

It’s all about the MIND BODY CONNECTION 🔄
