Although osteopaths are well known for treating back pain, the practice of osteopathy can help relieve the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. Osteopaths treat joint pain, neuromuscular conditions, digestive conditions, headaches and sleep problems. Osteopaths are commonly known for treating back pain and postural problems including changes due to pregnancy, caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthritis and minor sports injuries. Osteopathic patients include the young, older people, manual workers, office professionals, pregnant women, children and sports people.

Patients have also found osteopathy helpful for conditions such as digestive issues, circulatory problems, neuralgia and problems sleeping and for the symptoms of many others.

All our Osteopaths will spend time with you to understand, not only your symptoms, but how they relate to your lifestyle, occupation, sport or leisure time to endeavour to find and treat the cause of the symptoms thereby allowing you to return to health as quickly as possible.

😵‍💫Feeling dizzy or like the room is spinning? It might be BPPV.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common causes of vertigo and the good news is, it’s very treatable.

At Brixworth Osteopathic Clinic, we regularly help patients manage and recover from BPPV using gentle, targeted techniques that support the vestibular system, improve neck mobility, and calm the nervous system.

🌀 In our latest blog, we explain:
✔️ What BPPV is
✔️ Why it causes sudden spinning sensations
✔️ How Osteopathy can help reduce symptoms
✔️ What to expect during treatment

If dizziness is affecting your confidence, balance, or day-to-day life, you don’t have to put up with it.

The Power of Prevention.

Men’s Health Awareness Month isn’t about fear - it’s about empowerment. Regular check-ins, whether with your GP, Osteopath, or mental health provider, help ensure you stay at your best for yourself and those around you.💙

As Osteopaths, we believe movement is medicine, but awareness is the first step. Listening to your body, taking time to recover, and asking for help when needed are all signs of strength, not weakness.

Your health is your most valuable asset. Whether you’re a busy professional, a father, an athlete, or simply navigating the pressures of modern life - remember that caring for yourself allows you to give more to others.

This Men’s Health Awareness Month, let’s redefine what it means to be strong. Let’s move, talk, and check in - because prevention is powerful.

A patient gave me this and it made me tear up🥹

I’ve worked hard to become the kind of Osteopath who truly makes a difference and moments like this remind me why I do what I do.

All the hard work, long days, and studying - it’s all worth it when you know you’ve made a difference.

A lovely reminder to pause, look back, and appreciate how far you’ve come 💛 ~ Kate

Some of you were probably glued to the England vs New Zealand match at the weekend - none more so than our very own Osteopath, Gordon! His son, Fraser, played a key role in helping secure the win for England 💪🏼

It’s certainly been a week of celebrations in their household!

Huge congratulations to Fraser and the whole team! 🎉🏉

Everyday Steps to Improve Men’s Health 💙

Osteopathy works best as part of a proactive lifestyle. Here are a few practical steps men can take to stay healthy all year round:

Move daily. Regular movement - whether it’s walking, swimming, or cycling, keeps your joints lubricated and supports heart health.

Check your posture. Adjust your workstation, stretch your spine, and avoid long periods of sitting still.

Stay hydrated. Proper hydration supports muscle function, focus, and energy.

Sleep well. Quality sleep is when the body repairs and rebalances.

Listen to your body. Pain or stiffness is information - not an inconvenience.

Seek support early. Osteopaths can help prevent small issues from becoming chronic.
