Common Marathon Training Mistakes

1️⃣ Not giving yourself enough time
The longer the block, the better your body adapts. It gives you space to gradually increase mileage, address niggles, and strengthen weaknesses before they become problems.

2️⃣ Neglecting strength training
Running alone won’t bulletproof your body. Strength work builds resilience, improves running efficiency, and keeps injuries at bay.

3️⃣ Overlooking recovery, nutrition, and sleep
Recovery, fuelling, and sleep are the foundations that let you actually adapt to the work. If you ignore them, you inhibit your body’s ability to adapt to your training.

Marathon training is a big deal, a huge commitment, a challenge, and an incredible goal to chase.

Give yourself the time to build up the running, the time to strength train, and the time to recover properly.

3 Stretches for Desk Workers (or anyone sitting too long!)

Before we get to the stretches, our NUMBER ONE tip is simple: move once every hour.
Stand up, walk down the stairs, grab a drink - just move.

1. Sit-to-stands or bodyweight squats - get the blood flowing and wake up those legs.
2. Seated pigeon stretch - open up the hips and glutes.
3. Seated lat stretch - release tension through your back and shoulders.

Perfect for breaking up long hours at the desk and re-energising your body.
