Especially at the beginning we can assume that going to see a therapist is overwhelming.

There's so much stuff to work through, we assume we will have to confront all our feelings, behaviours and memories in one go OR that we have to talk through everything to get to the meaning and understanding.in order to transform our lives.

It can feel like standing in a woodland looking for the one bit of light that will help us finally see how to 'do it'.

What if I said?, 'Let's start in the light and look out from there.'

Some brilliant client work been happening in recent months with awesome metaphors being exclaimed.

I'm sharing one of them with you now.

Preamble: Client is aiming to decrease the amount of impulse reactions to low mood, that provide a short sharp moment of gratification/happiness/fullfillment or joy OR all of the above.

Seeking instead, a longer lasting, reassuring lift in mood.

The analogy: Eating a banana!

Banana's sustain your energy over a period of time resulting in more balance because energy is slowly released over time.

The hunt is on for slow releasing behaviours/actions/activties that sustain a balanced mood.

A big day today.

I'm on the move because the oil and energy giants are making their profits whilst putting small businesses out of business.

I'll be saying a grateful farewell to my practice on 31st March 2025. Goodness me has it been a wonderful location and my clients have loved the space.

Catton Therapy has enabled so many people to change their lives, their focus, increase their potential and find their way through some incredibly tough experiences, fully supported by myself.

From 1st April 2025 I will be in room 15, Diamond House, Vulcan Road North. NR6 6AQ.
