Have you ever tried to lose weight quickly for a holiday or something special but then find you put it all back on as soon as you are back? I know we read about it all the time but we still fall into that cycle. You are so much better to find a balance and create a healthier and sustainable lifestyle. You will find you can eat what you want if you choose sensibly. Loads of fruit and veg, good carbs, protein and a little fat too. The protein will fill you up, takes longer to burn and alongside exercise, also increases muscle mass. Dieting = unsustainable and invariably sets you up for failure.

Not sure where to start? Drop me a DM if you’d like some help. 💚💚💚

Here are a few natural ways to balance your hormones 🌺

As with so many things, it’s about BALANCE. But this balance also requires discipline, self love, planning and time. A little at a time and slowly but surely the little changes will make a difference.

Exercise regularly
maintain a moderate weight
Look after your gut health
Lower your sugar intake
Reduce stress
Good fats
Enough sleep each night - 7 or 8 hours if you can

CARBS are an important part of our diet - as long as they are the good ones.

I’m a firm believer that it’s all about BALANCE and our bodies needing good carbs, protein and fat in the right quantities. Including a small portion of wholegrain slow release carbs, such as brown rice, buckwheat, lentils, sweet potatoes or quinoa once or twice a day will ensure you are getting important fibre and B vitamins. Also essential for supporting hormone balance.

So don’t be scared of including good carbs - infact embrace them! Just stay away from the processed, high sugar refined ones as much as you can.

Oh beautiful daffodils and sunshine.

For me this is absolutely the best time of year - full of hope and anticipation for longer days and summer (and flip flops!! 🩴

The daffs are spectacular if you happen to live nearby.

FRIDAY EXERCISE 🏃‍♀️for hormonal imbalance ⭐️

HIIT (high intensity) is brilliant for helping towards balancing our hormones. Think squats, lunges, press ups, mountain climbers and burpees. Working out is so important for endocrine health as it helps balance hormones like cortisol, insulin, thyroid and s*x hormones. The more exercise we do, the more hormones are released - and the more consistent the flow of hormones throughout your body.

I read this somewhere a while ago and think it’s rather excellent. It’s makes you think thats for sure - even if you manage just a few or a little of some of these each day.

It certainly recognises the importance of looking after yourself - just as much as everyone around you 💚💚💚

1 hour of exercise
2 litres water
3 cups of tea
4 colours on your plate
5 minutes of meditation
6 songs that motivate you
7 minutes of laugher
8 hours sleep
9 pages of a book
10 reasons to be thankful

Do you suffer from feeling bloated? It can feel awful can’t it. Have you worked out which foods might make this worse? Here are some suggestions to help reduce inflammation and bloating and try as much as possible to stay away from processed, sugary and fatty foods.

Tomatoes
Olive oil
Green leafy veg
Nuts - especially almonds and walnuts
Fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, tuna and sardines)
Fruits - fresh or frozen - blueberries and oranges
Yoghurt - ideally natural
Fresh and dried herbs - ginger, turmeric, paprika…

⭐️POSTURE ⭐️

I’m obsessed - not least because I’ve had to visit a physio this week due to a very painful trapped nerve in my neck. As soon as I walked in to my appointment, I noticed my physio’s perfect posture. The majority of us need to improve our posture - whether we are sitting down at a desk, leaning over our phones or walking around.

Give it a try this weekend - keep reminding yourself to put your shoulders back and down and stand tall (essential for me! 🤭) but it will also help to boost your mood and self esteem as well.

Love to hear how you get on 💚
