Last month: Invited to Chicago to present our approach to 3D orthotic technology at the Doubletree Hilton Downtown.

The audience: Multi-clinic owners and manufacturers from across Europe and the USA.

The topic: How we’ve created orthotic insoles that are BOTH comfortable AND clinically effective (it’s been the holy grail of orthotics for years).

But here’s what really mattered…
A scoliosis specialist approached me after my talk. Dr Gomez treats spinal curvature, but he ALWAYS starts by examining the feet first. “Get the foundation right,” he said.

Our clinical lead, Ian Sadler has been abroad learning with other professions.

“I was privileged last week to be invited to speak on the subject of innovations in 3D Printing orthotic insoles at the Digital Day’s conference in Chicago.

This conference was aimed for manufacturer centres and clinical lead clinicians in the area of Orthotist and Prosthetist (O&P). It was amazing to see the innovation and energy in the profession.

I love the opportunity to visit ‘other peoples conferences’ and get exposure to different approaches to both clinical and industry issues. In this case O&P, being a tiny profession, even compared to Podiatry, are really throwing innovation at the issue of shrinking professional numbers in relation to growing clinical demand. Embracing digital solutions, collaboration and innovative design.

My ‘Podiatry perspective’ on the innovations in orthotic insole technology and clinical outcome improvements was warmly received and hopefully we can work on closer collaborations for professional and patient outcomes in the future. And it was nice to have an excuse to take the family to Chicago for an adventure!”

Our lead clinician ‘papped’ with Sarah, Tamworth’s MP, when he was there over the weekend delivering MSK and Biomechanics training for the Footsteps clinic.

I had the pleasure of meeting the team at Footsteps during their training day recently.

It was fantastic to hear from the specialists about the vital work they do at the heart of Tamworth, from podiatry to sports therapy, supporting our community’s health and wellbeing.

I’m so pleased to see the team had such a productive and positive training day!

To facilitate this broad-fitting window several design improvements have been implemented:
➡️ The tibial femoral angle has been improved to better follow the contour of the leg
➡️ The tibial flare has been adjusted to reduce pressure anteriorly
​​​​​​➡️ The contour over the VMO has been adjusted to allow more clearance, especially in deep flexion
