Why choose pregnancy massage

Pregnancy massage offers a wide range of physical and emotional benefits for expectant mothers. It helps relieve common discomforts such as back, hip, and joint pain, including sciatica, by addressing muscle tension and improving posture.

It can reduce swelling in the hands, feet, and ankles by enhancing lymphatic drainage and circulation, which is particularly helpful for managing oedema. Improved blood flow ensures both mother and baby receive adequate oxygen and nutrients, supporting healthy foetal development.

Massage also provides significant emotional and mental health benefits. It reduces stress and anxiety by lowering cortisol levels, the primary stress hormone, and promotes the release of serotonin and endorphins, which elevate mood and help combat prenatal depression and anxiety.

This relaxation can lead to better sleep quality, with increased time spent in deep, restorative sleep, which boosts immunity and energy levels. The calming effect on the nervous system can also help manage symptoms like heartburn and headaches.

Furthermore, regular prenatal massage may contribute to improved labour outcomes. Studies suggest it can reduce the risk of premature labour by lowering stress levels and may lead to less pain during labour, potentially reducing the need for medicated pain relief. Some research indicates that women who receive prenatal massage may experience shorter labour times and fewer complications during childbirth.

The therapy also fosters a deeper connection between mother and baby, enhancing the emotional bond and potentially reducing the risk of postnatal depression. For the baby, the benefits are indirect, stemming from the mother’s reduced stress and improved well-being, which can positively influence foetal health and development.

What to Expect
Your comfort and safety are the top priority.
· You’ll be positioned with supportive pillows and bolsters, avoiding pressure on your belly.
· Techniques are adapted to each stage of pregnancy.
· Oils and strokes are gentle, soothing, and pregnancy-safe.
· Sessions typically last 60–75 minutes.
· You’ll leave feeling more balanced, relaxed, and nurtured.

Is Pregnancy Massage Safe?
Yes! Massage is safe for most mums-to-be after the first trimester. However, it’s important to check with your midwife or healthcare provider, especially if you have a high-risk pregnancy or specific health conditions.

✨ Take a moment for yourself—because when you feel good, your baby does too. ✨

Are you feeling a major life change, grief, relationship shifts, retirement, cancer uncertainty or simply feeling anxious and unsure what's next?

Come and see Debbie Walmsley, MBACP, MNCPS (Accr.)Psychotherapist and Counsellor in Norfolk and Norwich.

Therapy offers a space where you can talk freely, without fear of being judged. It is your time to explore what’s going on in your head and heart, to notice patterns, reflect on your experiences, and begin making sense of it all.

It is a process of self-discovery. First comes awareness: understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. Then comes acceptance: being honest and compassionate with yourself. From there, real change becomes possible, because we cannot shift what we have not seen.

This journey can help soothe emotional wounds, build resilience and open the door to better, healthier choices for yourself.

Have a scar tissue which is still painful? We have a Therapist who is qualified in the McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release.

You may ask what is McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release.
What people don't understand is the profound effect scars have on the surrounding tissues and structures, even many tears after the original event.
Sometimes it can be the key to unlocking other intractable issues that someone may have like a bad back or stiff shoulder that perhaps seem unrelated to the original scar in any anyway.

The fascia of the body is the interconnected and continual "webbing" that holds us all together, and a bit like a pair of tights it can get twisted or stuck in certain places. The tightly bound collagen fibres of scar tissue can inhibit free movement in the same way a tight shirt can restrict your movement.

MSTR: can be applied to several surgical scars such as :-
Caesarean or C- section scars.
Mastectomy Scars.
Hysterectomy Scar.
Hip, Knee and other joint replacement scars.
Appendix and abdominal scars.
Amputations.

Scars as a result of trauma such as :-
Cuts.
Bullet wounds.

If you are looking for a therapist for Hypnotherapy, Bartek Szymanski has just joined our Team.

Bartek is a Registered Mental Health nurse with more than 15 years of experience working in various mental health settings. Last year Bartek has decided to expand his knowledge and learn new skills and is now a qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist/psychotherapist.

Bartek has a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) which he has also been awarded the Level 4 NCFE accredited Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HiPD).

A Registered member of AfSFH (Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists) and NCH (National Council Hypnotherapy)
Solution focused hypnotherapy utilises elements of the most successful modern talking therapies such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy) and NLP (Neuro- Linguistic Programming) but is also unique in a couple of very important ways.

Whereas traditional talking therapies look to the past for answers, SFH focuses on the present, and how to move sensitively, but positively forwards, helping you to imagine your best possible success within therapy, and beyond. All of this is then consolidated and reinforced using trance (hypnosis) which happens in every session.
Please reach out for a free consultation if you are suffering from anxiety, persistent low mood, are being held back in any way with mental health issues, physical health issues or relationships, weight management, smoking cessation …If you want to remove any self-limiting beliefs, improve focus or performance!
