Victoria joined the Pilates East team back in September teaching Barre on a Friday evening 🙌🏻
We sat down with her to find out more about her and her for Pilates 🤍
1. Tell us about how you got into Pilates
I took my first Pilates class while training in classical ballet. It was a beautiful complement to my dancing, and I quickly noticed the incredible benefits it brought to my body and movement. The more I practiced, the more fascinated I became with the method and its history!
2. How would you describe your teaching style?
My teaching style is supportive, mindful, and encouraging. I love helping clients understand the purpose behind each exercise so they can truly connect with their bodies and movement. I focus on clear and guiding cues for clients to leave each session feeling good about their progress, and excited for what’s next in their Pilates journey.
3. What do you love most about Pilates?
Pilates is endless, there’s always more to explore! Same exercise can serve a different purpose depending on how you approach it, so you’re constantly learning and evolving. I also love its accessibility. Pilates has no barriers and can be adapted for everyone, no matter their level or background.
4. Three favourite exercises?
Teaser, jack knife and swan dive
5. One interesting fact we might not know about you?
I’ve inherited a love for textiles and sewing, and it’s become one of my favorite creative outlets! There’s something magical about turning a simple piece of fabric into a little garment, experimenting with textures and colors, and then seeing my family and friends actually wear my creations.
6. what motivates you?
Seeing clients fall in love with the method and recognizing their own progress is what motivates me the most. Watching them build confidence, and awareness through Pilates is incredibly rewarding!
7. And lastly, why should everyone do Pilates?
Because Pilates truly is for everyone! You don’t need to be flexible or strong to start, just open to moving and learning about your body. It adapts to every individual and every stage of life, helping you move and feel better.
