🥞SHROVE TUESDAY🥞

We had a flipping good time this afternoon!

We not only tasted freshly cooked pancakes with delicious toppings, but also tossed them in the air, to the delight of people around☺️🍳

Thanks Ian for the beautiful batter, Laure for the marvellous mini pancake maker, family members and staff for flipping the pancakes and taking pancakes to residents in their rooms! We had so much fun!☺️❤️

This afternoon our lovely residents were invited to bring along items of clothing that need mending and enjoy a cuppa while they wait. ☕️

Special thanks to Sheila who gave me a helping hand by sewing buttons.

From workouts🏋️‍♀️ to indulging in delicious pancakes 🥞 celebrating Chinese New Year 🧧 praying with friends and spending time with our community, we certainly have a full week!

❤️VALENTINE TEA PARTY❤️

We celebrated in style our Valentine party with Joy’s family entertaining us all afternoon!🥰🙏

A big thank you to Sandra, Joy’s daughter in law, for her classical love songs; we went down memory lane😊🎶🎤

Brian, Joy’s son, took us through a lively and entertaining auction! ❤️

As for Ali, Joy’s daughter, she baked some delicious biscuits, which were delicious with those baked by Ian our chef!👨‍🍳😋

We shared some beautiful moments all together and with family members who were present 💝

Thank you all for joining us and making the afternoon memorable😊🙏❤️

😬FRIDAY 13TH😬

Fortunately our residents had a lovely day of activities with no unlucky mishaps. 📚

There was a lovely trip to Taverham Library followed by fish and chips for lunch.

This afternoon some residents stimulated their creative side with valentine painting. ❤️

We are very busy this week as you can see, and have enjoyed baking valentine biscuits❤️ and doing a quiz and miming game this morning 😊❤️

💛👏 CHEERLEADING 👏💛

Oh what a wonderful morning spent with our lovely volunteer Holly who came with her cheerleading friends from University of East Anglia (UEA) where she is studying 💛😊👏

We were definitely cheered up by their beautiful choreography, skills, pompoms and sparkly costumes!✨💖

The girls also taught us some armography movements which we all practised together 😊

Thank you so much for your time, energy and sparkly smiles 🤩 We cannot wait to strengthen our link with the university and have you back later this year!

We had a lovely afternoon reading some of our favourite poems and book extracts, discussing a world gone by and reminiscing about our childhood, meeting our second half and our first kiss❤️

We love to go out for a drink and cake at our local cafe, whatever the weather! This afternoon was no exception!😊

💚SNOWDROPS💚

Thank you so much Caroline Fleming for opening up your home and gardens for our residents to enjoy this morning😌

We loved admiring the snowdrops despite the weather and thoroughly enjoyed the warm coffee, brownies, friendly dogs and conversation☕️🐕💬

It was also fascinating to hear about the family connection with famous author Ian Fleming 📗

🌟A visit is highly recommended!🌟

All proceeds to go to the Open Gardens Scheme and Horstead Church🙂👏
