**Staff Protected Learning Time (PLT) Thursday 13th November 2025**
Please note that Highcroft Surgery will be CLOSED on Thursday 13th November from 12.30pm for staff training and will reopen on Friday 14th November at 8:00am. The eConsult online system will also close at 12.30 and will re-open from 08:00am on Friday 14th November.
If you have a pre-booked appointment this will still go ahead, but for anything else the surgery will be CLOSED.
If you require medical attention when the surgery is closed, please call the NEMS Out of Hours Service on 111 who will be able to help you. If you experience any life threatening emergencies such as chest pain, breathing difficulties or require urgent medical attention, please call 999.

World Mental Health Day takes place every year on 10 October. It’s a reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health.
This year's theme is 'access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies'. The theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health in times of global instability.

🫀 Heart Smart Event – Gedling, 17th September 2025

Highcroft Surgery proudly took part in the Heart Smart community health event held at the Salvation Army venue in Gedling on Wednesday, 17th September. The event aimed to promote heart health and general wellbeing through free health checks and lifestyle advice.

👩‍⚕️ What We Did

Our team of clinicians and support staff provided:

• Blood pressure and atrial fibrillation checks

• BMI measurements

• Blood tests for up to 70 patients

• Health check questionnaires

• Lifestyle advice and signposting

💻 What Happens Next

All health data collected was securely transferred to patient records. Patients identified with high blood pressure, pre-diabetes or other concerns will be contacted by their GP practice for follow-up care.

🟢Drop-in for Blood Pressure, pulse and BMI
🟢Mental Health Support
🟢Health and Well-being Services
🟢Diet and exercise advice and support.
