Day Case Unit Registered Nurse
Job Description
Working with the Clinical Lead, the post holder will be ensuring the delivery of care to a consistently high standard, following policies and procedures.

The post holder will be assisting the Clinical Lead in maintaining the efficiency of the Day Surgery Unit including Ward, Recovery and Pre Assessment, developing a team and monitoring quality standards. Day Surgery ward duties may be required.

We welcome applications from Registered Theatre Practitioners and Registered Nurses to join the team. Our client pride themselves in delivering the very highest standards of patient care at all times. They support professional development of the team to ensure that the service we deliver is of the highest quality.

As part of the team you will be valued and supported to use your existing knowledge and skills whilst developing any new skills required as opportunities arise to develop the service further.

This is a part-time post 20 hours per week. The unit is currently open from Monday - Friday from 07.00am - 20.00pm hours.

This post is for an experienced surgical nurse to join the team to work on the Day Surgery Ward, admitting patients and caring for them during their recovery period until they are ready to be discharged home.

As a Registered Nurse, you will:

Your Experience/Qualifications
A minimum one-year previous experience of working in a similar role.
Experience in Surgical Settings
-Qualified Nurse with an active NMC PIN.
-Post-registration clinical experience.
-Understanding of clinical governance principles and their practical application.
-Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.

Working as part of our busy outpatient team working alongside our Nurses & Consultants to deliver the best patient care. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Specialty Doctor within the Emergency Care. The unit has been designed as a new clinical area to support the same day emergency care of our local population to ensure timely diagnostics and treatment.

You will be an integral part of the Emergency Care Team, working alongside an experienced team of clinicians. This post does not include any on-call commitments although they can be added on an ad-hoc or rota basis if desired. The post holder will complement existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise in Emergency Care. The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and will have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

The unit offers a comprehensive range of ambulatory services to include Doppler/DVT clinics, IV therapies, out-patient investigation and follow up.

The main duties of the role will be but not limited to: -

Assessment of patients and agreeing a management plan for admission, onward referral or self management where applicable.

In reach to the Emergency Department to pull suitable patients to the department

Undertaking medical procedures to include but not limited to Lumbar puncture, ascitic tap/drain

Providing advice to GP's/NWAS
