A lovely afternoon....

Today we celebrated the festive season with our annual Christmas Party. What a wonderful occasion it was. There was a terrific spread of food laid on by our wonderful kitchen team - a huge thank you to them. Great music and dance from local entertainer Marie, with plenty of joining in from our residents. Above all there were lots of laughs and it was great to see residents, family, friends, and staff come together for a lovely occasion.

A Festival of Music....

Residents and staff at Orchard House are having fun preparing for their Christmas Carol singing. Most of them love Christmas, and the festive season brings smiles, laughter, and a joyful atmosphere throughout the home. Everyone is loving the music, singing together, and sharing special moments as they get ready to celebrate. The sound of carols fills the air, creating a sense of togetherness and holiday cheer for all.

Looking good for Christmas....

Staff and residents here at Orchard House have had lots of fun this week getting the home ready for the Christmas season. With all the decorations up, it's looking really festive and is bringing a smile to everyone's face. All that we need now is Santa and his reindeer to turn up, and we are sure for a great time. Fantastic Achievements....

Here at Orchard House, we are so proud of two of our staff members.

Firstly, congratulations to Gina, who has passed her Level 3 in Care. Gina has been with us for seven years, and she always works hard and shows real dedication and compassion.
Secondly, congratulations to Rachel, who has achieved her Level 3 as a Cook.

Well done to both of you!

Our lovely residents were treated to a lovely performance last week by a new entertainer to the home - a saxophone player, Joy. She came to play for our residents, and they really enjoyed hearing her music. They loved the music, and are looking forward to having her back.

Marking Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day holds deep significance for many of Orchard House's residents, whose family histories are touched by war, and today we will listen as they share memories from the past. The home will hold a period of silence and make sure that we honour the sacrifice of people in the two World Wars and other conflicts. We hope that going forward we can all learn to live in a more peaceful and harmonious world. We should never forget the sacrifices of those who fought so that we can live as freely as we do today.

A fantastic feast.....

Who doesn't love a lovely spread and a cuppa? Well, our lovely residents at Orchard House certainly do, and so recently we laid on a great spread for them. We had asked for a list of everyone's favourite things and made sure that the kitchen team got everyone on the menu! It was a lovely afternoon which everyone thoroughly enjoyed...the only question we got was...when's the next one?!

Important Change of Date!

Unfortunately, Orchard House has had to postpone its Summer Fayre from this coming Saturday to Saturday, 13th September. This is due to an outbreak of COVID at the home. It is very important that we look after our residents and their families and contain any spread of the virus as much as possible.

We look forward to the new date in September when we will be able to welcome everyone to the home and what promises to be a lovely afternoon. We hope to see you all in a month's time!

What a glorious Summer!

One that the lovely residents of Orchard House took full advantage of this week. The home is blessed with a lovely garden and everyone enjoyed sitting out in it and lapping up the sunshine. There was lots of strolling around, chatting, talking, and laughing with each other. It was lovely to see them so happy. We hope you are enjoying the sunshine.

Afternoon Tea anyone?

Residents at Orchard House were treated to a delicious afternoon tea last Tuesday. There were lots of cakes, different kinds of pastries, and tea and coffee, which our Residents enjoyed very much. Many thanks to our kitchen team who made it all possible. The treats were so tasty it didn't take long before there was nothing left but crumbs!

Happy Birthday Godfrey!

Our lovely resident Godfrey celebrated his 80th birthday recently, with his loving family and the Orchard House staff. Sam, our care planner, made his beautiful cake, and his family brought lots of sweets, pastries, and more. Of course, there were lots of cards and presents to make the day even more special.

Everyone had a fantastic time and Godfrey would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who worked so hard to make his Birthday one to remember!
