What a creative group!

Edward House has a lot of wonderful residents, and one of the things they are brilliant at is being creative. Having painted tulips for display in the home, they then decided to turn their attention to making Easter decorations. Colourful, pretty, and egg-themed, these lovely creations were displayed on their own tree. The home has certainly been brightened up by our residents' efforts - they should be very proud. What will they turn their hands to next?

Bringing the garden inside.....

Our lovely residents here at Edward House decided to do a spot of painting this week. The idea?....to bring a touch of Spring into the home and brighten everything up. They painted lots of lovely, brightly coloured tulips to display throughout the home - guaranteed to make everywhere look lovely. A great activity for encouraging their fine motor skills and engagement, but above all it was great fun!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

We had a lot of laughs here at Edward House for St Patrick's Day this year. There was lots of green, orange and white about the house, not to mention on top of some of our residents' heads! Everyone really entered into the spirit of the day and had a great craic! There might even have been the odd tipple or two - we couldn't possibly say!

Happy Mother's Day....

On Sunday, we said a big thank you to all Mums everywhere, and in particular to those living at Edward House. It was great to welcome families and friends to join in the special day. Everyone had a lot of fun, and there was lots of laughter throughout the home, as everyone really enjoyed spending time together.

Concentration faces at the ready....

Edward House residents got their serious looks on this week when it came around to competition and games time. We had some surprisingly competitive spirits in the house, and everyone really enjoyed pitting their skills against not only the games but also each other. There were lots of laughs and a few frustrated sighs when things didn't go quite as intended, but it was a great session for everyone's engagement, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.

Happy Birthday Ron!

Our lovely resident, Ron, celebrated his Birthday on the 10th of this month. Not looking a day over 70, it's hard to believe that this was the 96th year that Ron has blown out candles and enjoyed cards, balloons, presents, and cake! He had a fab day and would like to thank everyone for making it so special for him.

Treats are coming!

Friday is treat day at Edward House, and who doesn't like a treat now and again - our lovely residents certainly do. Our oversized Treat Trolley will be making its way around the home throughout today, and residents will be making their choices. Of course, it has been known for people to have more than one treat, if not several...well, why not! Have a fun Friday everyone!

Animal Magic!....

Well, what a day we had recently at Edward House. We were very lucky to get a visit from lots of lovely animals and reptiles, whom our residents were delighted to meet. Having the animals visit the home is a sensory experience for residents and provides them with a wonderful focus. We're not sure which one was the favourite, but the bunnies seemed to get a lot of attention!

Marking World Book Day

Our lovely residents and staff at Edward House got involved with World Book Day, opting to spend the day in our pjs and taking a trip down memory lane with some familiar books. This was followed by a splendid buffet for everyone. It was great to see people reconnecting with stories they loved from the past, as well as being so engaged in the process.

A lovely trip out....

With the rain finally relenting and the sun coming out, it only meant one thing for some of our residents here at Edward House - a trip out for coffee and cake. As you can see from the pictures both were thoroughly enjoyed. A big thank you to Golden Sip - everyone truly enjoyed your yummy cakes!

Happy Birthday Irene

It was wonderful to celebrate one of our residents' birthdays recently. The lovely Irene turned 88, quite an achievement! She had a great day with cards and presents, and we took these great pics of her proudly wearing Number 88 and enjoying her cake. It's always great to celebrate Birthdays at the home, and this one was no exception. Irene would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who made her day special.

Remembering the past.....

It's so important for our residents to stay in touch with past memories. They can be so emotive for them and bring a lot of joy and happiness. So we regularly take a trip down memory lane and share their recollections of years gone by. A great way of doing this is with a memory box to help prompt some of the stories they love to tell. It was great to see everyone enjoy themselves so much.
