Christmas at St Peter's....

What a lovely day all our residents and staff had on Christmas Day. It was a day filled with laughter and joy, and made all the more wonderful for seeing so many family and friends visiting the home. There were plenty of Christmas jumpers on display, and there seemed to be a never-ending stream of presents to be opened. Christmas lunch was wonderful - a big thank you to our kitchen team for pulling out all the stops! In fact, a huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the day so special for our residents and their families.

A lovely evening.....

St Peter's residents were given a real treat this week when we had a pantomime performed for us. They were joined by residents from the Ruddington. There was so much laughter and fun had, no one wanted the show to end. 'Oh yes they did!'....'Oh no they didn't'....It's getting more Christmasy by the day!!

Our residents certainly don't. They have thoroughly enjoyed getting slightly messy with the cake mix this week. Some gorgeous cupcakes were the order of the day. They didn't last long once they were out of the oven - they tasted too good!

A lovely trip out...

At St Peter's we always try to make sure that all our residents get the opportunity to go on trips out - sometimes accompanied by staff, and sometimes with family and friends. Here's a couple of great pictures of our lovely resident, Rosamund, who had a lovely trip to Nottcutts garden centre last week with her family. She really enjoyed her trip out, looking at all the decorations and doing some Christmas shopping.

A Christmas Concert to enjoy....

Here at St Peter's, we had another wonderful Christmas performance when Marie visited and gave us a terrific performance of some Christmas favourites. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and happily joined in with singing and dancing. We are so lucky to have such a great entertainer visit the home on a regular basis. Here's to the next visit!

It's all gone Christmastastic at St Peter's!

First there were the decorations, then the concert! St Peter's is looking really festive after a great effort from everyone to get all our decorations up. We think the trees look great this year. To continue the Christmas mood, we then had our first Christmas performance of the season, from the lovely Hannah - such a brilliant singer. Everyone really enjoyed the show, with lots of our residents joining in and dancing. It was a really fun occasion and one that got Christmas 2025 off to a great start.

Marking Remembrance Day.....

The home will join with millions of other people today in marking Remembrance Day. It holds deep significance for many of our residents whose family histories have stories of sacrifice and bravery from the past. The home will hold a period of silence and make sure that we honour the sacrifice of people in the two World Wars and other conflicts. We hope that going forward we can all learn to live in a more peaceful and harmonious world. We should never forget the sacrifices of those who fought so that we can live as freely as we do today.

Darts Champion!

A big welcome to our new resident, Sandra. She recently came to live at St Peter's, and on her first day she won our darts tournament! She was over the moon. Apparently she used to play darts with her husband, and she can not wait to tell him she won! Well done Sandra and it's lovely to have you at St Peter's - we hope you will be very happy here.

Halloween Happiness....

Last week St Peter's welcomed back regular visitors Kevin and Marie for a fantastic Halloween Show. What a brilliant show they put on, with everyone joining in and having so much fun. The costumes and songs were great, so a big thank you to them for the effort they put in to making it such a great spectacle. Everyone is looking forward to them coming back and we cant wait to see what they come up with next!

A great show......

All the residents at St Peter's were treated to a great afternoon's entertainment recently, when local singer Trevor Santini visited the home. Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Cliff Richard numbers were performed along with many others. Everyone joined in the fun and had a great time. Big thanks to Trevor for giving us such a great show!
