CHOCOLATE!!!

Did that get your attention?! Good!

Since we lost the extra hour last weekend I’ve not slept too great this week and have been feeling a little more tired than usual.

I’m totally aware that when we are tired we feel the cold more and it effects our sugar levels and moods and therefore food choices.

I should’ve been getting to bed earlier so I take full responsibility for feeling the way I have on occasion this week.

Let me point out that there is no ‘woe me’ going on here, I’m cool, I’ve cracked on and life is good but I wanted to share this to try and help others that deem foods ‘good or bad’.

When we are tired our natural reaction is to reach for the sweet stuff to boost our sugar levels and therefore circulation, it’s almost survival instincts, but it’s probably not what your body needs, more like what it wants, or is it?

If you’re someone that has constantly got your hand in the biscuit tin then you probably need to reconsider your choices, maybe reach for something more complex in the carbohydrate department BUT if you are feeling a little hormonal, tired, have a fairly good diet and fancy a little sommin’ sommin’ then go for it I say!

Thanks to for my monthly chocolate drop at his sports therapy appointment yesterday, came in handy 👌🏼😋

Tomorrow XForce Fitness start a 100km per person run/walk challenge throughout the whole of March.

Our very own came up with the idea and put the cherry on the cake suggesting we do it for a Ukrainian refugee charity ‘Choose Love’.

At the minute we have at least 10 of us taking part which means running/walking 1000km collectively.

Now typically, when it comes to boundaries and training, we want more!

We aim to raise £1 for every kilometre run, is there anyone else that would like to join us?

You can complete your own route at your own speed. We are arranging a group run on Saturday 26 March at 7am - location TBC

We have created a plan/tracking sheet which you can be sent for FREE by liking page AND subscribing to our mailing list via the website www.exclusiveretreatclub.com (link in the bio)

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing.

The main philosophy of yoga is simple: mind, body, and spirit are all one and cannot be clearly separated. Yet, there is a multitude of philosophical ideas that are helpful to explore the deeper dimensions of the body, mind, and spirit. Studying and understanding these ideas are essential to shift our view as ourselves as separate, to realizing the unitive state.

Yoga philosophy, similar to Buddhism, believes that spiritual ignorance creates suffering and binds us to the wheel of samsara (cycle of rebirth). The removal of our ignorance can take many different paths and techniques in yoga. Still, the central philosophical teachings of yoga revolve around the practice of mental discernment, detachment, spiritual knowledge, and self-awareness.

Like everything, you have different styles and you will have different preferences.

We recommend yoga for breath work, for self care and for regulation.

Namaste 🙏🏼

MOTIVATION…

Is something that can come in peaks and troughs. When motivation is high we get lots done and we keep our goals firmly in focus, when it’s low we can feel low, tired and overwhelmed and get productivity is reduced.

The sooner we accept this the better.

We then have to do two things:

1. Accept that we are human, this happens then do our best to apply discipline to continue to get things done with our goals in mind.

2. Accept it and take a break, and do not feel guilty for it.

When we are motivated we should use it to get as much done as possible, particularly the things that we are less inclined to do when motivation is reduced.

Not only can we feel motivated, lack of motivation, we can also be totally demotivated. All are normal feelings.

When do you feel most/least motivated?

We can use things, people and events to motivate and demotivate us. Vision boards are also great for this, a visual reminder.

What/who is your motivation?

When we understand these things we can use them to increase productivity, reduce overwhelm and build a consistent disciplined mindset that works positively with/without motivation present.

We take energy from the sunlight, but when is your favourite time of day to enjoy it?

Mine is sunrise in particular, although sunset is pretty special too, you share a sunrise with less people which to me makes it even more special.

Take in the energy, let it warm your soul 🌱♥️
