I wrote about how I keep showing up when it gets hard. It often involves restarting again and again.

For ages, I believed this was what was holding me back from my goals. But no, it is what keeps me consistent and reliable.

✨ Do you ever notice how simply changing your space can change your mindset?

Today, instead of heading into my home office, I decided to work from bed. πŸ›οΈ
Something about shifting my body position instantly unlocked a more creative flow.

It’s a reminder that sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference. πŸ’‘

➑️ Where do you feel most creative β€” at a desk, on the sofa, in bed, or somewhere else entirely?

I've got that Friday feeling!

So glad that I own my business because now I can own my decisions.

Costs are the same if dropped the kid in breakfast club compared to:

πŸ§’ me be screamed at for not giving him ice cream for breakfast πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

πŸ§’ answering a thousand questions about what we're doing this weekend

πŸ§’ telling him to stay still while I "help him dress"

πŸ§’ constantly prompting him to get a move on πŸ‘Ÿ

But then I would be outsourcing the morning parenting which is not what I wanted for my family.

Even of on days like today it's very tempting as we all have a cold!

So I have chosen to battle to the traffic for expensive city centre parking (not tram commuting) so I get there in time.

Now I have to just embrace the bad with the good of that decision....and probably re-evaluate in 6months.

Yesterday evening was very emotional πŸ˜₯

I was invited by the local NHS Organ Transplant Team to accept the Order of St John Award on behalf of my Mum Dianne Young for her life saving gift of Organs.

My Mum passed away at just 61 years old. She was fit and healthy and minuets before she passed she had uttered a regret about not having gone for a 15 mile bike ride that day.

She had a brain bleed and despite being resuscitated by members of the East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust her bleed had already done it's damage.

I told the transplant team that I had always know Mum wanted to donate her organs to save others. I can remember her asking us for our views when my sister and I were both still in primary school. We talked about it a few times over the years which meant I was confident in her wishes.

Organ donation bit we had to consent to other options if the organs could not be transplanted (there are multiple reasons why this doesn't happen). These included medical research and teaching medical students, we signed up for it all confident in that this is what she wanted.

If you are not sure of your loved ones wishes or have not told them yours recently please do have that talk today.

πŸŽƒ Happy Halloween! 😊

I have heard so many people say that Halloween is an import from America. Not True.

It was the end of the year in the celtic calendar so here is my new Years review. Business plan for this year was to slowly grow the customerbase and improve processes whilst developing new products (coming soon).

Personally, it was to do less, pace myself more and let suff develop organically. I'm pleased to report that this is going well and that this coming year is about implementing the projects started this year.

It is a festival practiced by celtic and garlic tubes before the Romans invaded. That means that Halloween would have been celebrated right here in Leicestershire!

However, how they celebrated is not clear. It is speculated that they had bonfires to welcome the spirits of the dead back over. And they may have dressed up to ward of malevolent spirits.

This may have been a community service for which they were gifted rewards.

But these traditions mostly died out during Roman times but creating jack-o'-lanterns and dressing up came over to the US with some Gaelic families where the traditions were revived and adapted.

And I am glad they're back even if it is pouring down here!

I'm running everyday this week as a last minute attempt to get a bit fitter for the Leicestershire 3 peaks challenge.

It has been great to give myself a new challenge to go outside my comfort zone and ask for donations. It has really helped me change my mindset to being more open about needing help sometimes (like a normal oerson).

It's 16 miles in Leicestershire to riaww funds in memory of my late Mum Dianne Young.

I'm pleased to announce I've exceeded my target of raising Β£100 for the Leicester Charity Link but it's a worthwhile caus so if anyone else wants to donate please follow this link:

As humans we find new things scary and stressful. My son is 4 so he needs lots of prep' because everything is new to him.

He starts school next week so this week we're preparing by

πŸ“š Reading books about school together

πŸ‘©β€πŸ« Trying on school uniform and wearing in his new shoes

πŸŽ’ Buying a new bag and water bottle together

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈWalking to the school first thing in the morning as practice

All these small steps should stop him feeling too overwhelmed when he starts next week.

But only time will tell. How do you prepare for something new?

It is not those big wins I struggle to celebrate it is the little ones.

The one my imposter syndrome days *should* be easy and everyone *should* do.

But after so many lockdowns and now trying to "get back to normal". I have found those bad habits of putting myself and my basic needs last has become the norm.

And I'm struggling with doing all the basics things I need to do, to keep myself health and mentally resilient.

So, I'm on a mission to build up those healthy habits. Doing little things for me daily.

These include:

🌲 making my bed every day πŸ›

🌲 going for two runs a week πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

🌲 drinking an extra pint of water a day πŸ’§

🌲 taking my multivitamin πŸ’ͺ

Today, I'm celebrating 40days of consistency!

That's no small thing.

Let me know what little thing you do just for you *every* day 😁

Today I'm 39! Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

We had a lovely family weekend away and today I took it easy.

Someone suggested that I make a list of 40 things to do by the time I'm 40 but instead I thought. I'd look back on what I've achieved already, rather than putting pressure on myself to do loads in, one year.

Today we did "potion making".

Dante loves the Meg and Mog books so was really into this.

All the ingredients are out of date dry ingredients and the food colouring to make the water pretty colours. I also added bubble bath because of the bittering agent.

He can now recite the three rules of potion making

1, Don't drink the water
2, Don't drink the water (it's so important it's worth sating twice)
3, Have fun!!

What you'll need:
πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ Old Cups and or dishes
πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ Utensils to measure and mix
πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ Food colouring
πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ Something to make it taste bad such as bubble mixture, bubble bath or dish soap 🧼
πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ ingredients such as sricks, dried flowers, old herbs, ginger root, oats, dedicated coconut, fiber, desiccated coconut, rice etc

Lots of fun to be had mixing and measuring and pouring. You can do this as part of a mud kitchen if you wish to make it messier.

This play teaches fine motor skills, the cocept of scarcity and communication skills.

Give it a go!!!!

Got my outfit ready for tonight. Going out with .nottingham and our supporters.

One of the first steps in fundraising to get Brenè Brown's BRAVING message out to our community through peer support.

It is exciting to be spreading our wings and soon helping men and those who don't identify as women.

But first we raise funds and party, I can't wait to see you all there!
