Home Grown Fitness is owned and run by Ben Martell and has been developed with the aim of providing the benefits of engaging a fully qualified person trainer and sports massage therapist but without the need to join an expensive gym. Ben Martell is a fully qualified REP’s accredited level 3 personal trainer and sports massage therapist who has gained experience working within the health and fitness industry over the last 12 years. Home Grown Fitness promises to bring health and fitness to your door step with training in an environment that you are comfortable with, your very own home. Whether you have specific goals in mind, from weight loss to training for an upcoming event, or just want to maintain physical fitness rest assured that all your requirements can be catered for. Very nice improvements and feedback from Joe just a few weeks into his coaching with me, aim is to get him in the best shape we can in time for summer.

When Joe reached out to me he had other ideas of what he wanted to get from my coaching but after a conversation and me putting a realistic time frame on things we both decided that getting him peeled for summer was the right move to make.

The next few weeks we’re going to have to turn up the heat and dig deep, the real graft is about to come.

Can’t wait to see what we’re going to achieve over these coming weeks.

7 weeks of good steady progress. We’ve not had any crazy nutrition and training split. We’ve had a very relaxed approach as we have plenty of time on our hands to get in cracking shape. Soon enough we’ll have to pull the trigger and get some graft done but for now we’re coasting. Great work man.

Real life action man!

Nothing but respect for Ashley’s graft with this.

Fat loss phase well and truly accomplished ✅ now it’s time to grow and see what damage we can cause running into the new year.

Never any excuses from Ashley, he works a stressful job in London, has weekly PR lunches/dinners and personal social commitments so there was still plenty of flexibility as we navigated the previous 14 weeks.

If there are ever any questions as to what it takes to get in this type of shape you are looking at
- 4/5 resistance training sessions per week.
- 88,000+ steps a week.
- 4 hours of cardio per week.
- strict calorie and macro controlled meal plans.

Here he is

Absolute pleasure to work with Alex while he got beach ready for an upcoming holiday!

Never questioned the process just put his trust in me, grafted, stayed disciplined and accountable and we got the results we wanted in around 13 weeks.

Alex is a busy father of 3 who runs his own business. Didn’t make any excuses, just got it done! Had plenty of nights out, dinners out and weekends away throughout the 13 weeks. Nothing has to be put on hold.

Coming in hot 🔥8 weeks deep on a fat loss phase. 3/4 more weeks to tidy everything up before maintenance and then a big push up for a growth phase taking us into the new year.

Ashley lives in London, has a stressful job, has lots of events he needs to attend for work but he still gets s**t done.

Time away and off plan.

So I’m currently in Greece, I’ve been here for 3 weeks and I have another week and a half left.

During this time what I have done to stay on plan?

Well, nothing…..

95% of the time while I’m at home I stick to a very structured and disciplined routine in regards to training and nutrition.

Since being in Greece I have pretty much eaten whatever I’ve wanted to. I’ve had a beer nearly every day, I’ve most definitely smashed a few biscuits each day, I’ve clapped one big jar and one small jar of Nutella. Although I’m still very much conscious of what I’m eating it’s definitely a good thing to step away from being so strict and relax with training and nutrition for a while.

I’m still moving and walking for an hour most days. There’s no access to a gym on the island that I’m on so I’ve been running and skipping a bit and continued to work while away.

Physique has definitely changed slightly (probably only in my eyes) and things have ‘smoothed’ over somewhat but f**k it.

1. It’s feels good for me to relax and eat as I please with very few constraints.

2. It’s given my body a good rest from the amount of training I do.

3. Its fuelling a massive fire in my belly to smash training and dial in nutrition when I’m home.

Just scratching the surface!

8 weeks of work with Joe. Nothing crazy, tailored training and nutrition plan, minimal cardio as Joe found it difficult to get cardio in around a busy life and a small daily step goal.

Nutrition adherence was spot on while Joe still enjoyed a couple of off plan meals a week and the occasional night out. Time to dig deep and see what the next 8 weeks can bring.
