Final call to join my Breathwork for Menopause 4- week Series starting today!

If you're experiencing disrupted sleep, hot flushes, difficulty falling asleep, managing anxiety or stress this supportive space is for you.

But maybe you're wondering, is this really for me?”
You might feel: “I’m not spiritual / into woo-woo stuff — will I fit in?”
You might associate “breathwork” with something too intense or unfamiliar. This course is very different from Wim Hoff style of dramatic breathing.
You could think it’s only for “zen” or “alternative” people.
I get it. These wonderful tools are practical, gentle, and science-backed — You don’t need any experience; it’s for real women with busy lives who want tools that actually work.

I’m passionate about spreading the word because these techniques highlighted that my breathing was dysfunctional in a way that yoga couldn’t uncover. I learnt to adapt these powerful tools to my unique self, thus accessing deeper rest and more compassion. Within one week, the overwhelming anxiety that left me feeling tired, wired and unhappy began to retreat.

You can do this lying on your sofa in comfy clothes — there’s no right or wrong, and I’ll guide you step-by-step.
It’s about feeling better, not doing it perfectly.
Certain breathing techniques calm the nervous system and balance hormones — I’ll show you exactly how.

I don't have favourite classes But, this current Radiant Strength series is a favourite! 😃

I wasted a lot of my days thinking I just needed to try harder and more willpower.

But, alongside letting go of how others judge me from size, shape, voice, looks.. And what a practice that is!!

When I hit my 40s, I couldn't understand why routines that once made me feel strong just left me drained. Piled on top of bleary eyes from broken nights.

The fact is - my body was changing. Hormones, sleep, anxious thoughts, energy, even how my joints felt...everything was shifting. In a kind of gradual way that I just kept trying harder until I realised I was making myself feel worse.

What finally worked was choosing specific practices designed to support me, not exhaust me. That's when my resilience grew with tools to help me feel more at home in my skin again.

Hi everyone

I'm Monique, and I’m delighted to be offering a free yoga session in the park this Sunday!

This class is open to everyone—no matter your age, experience, or flexibility.

My teaching style blends yoga, gentle breathwork, and movement science to create smart, accessible practices that support your physical and emotional wellbeing. Expect a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can move, breathe, and feel good in your body.

All you need is a mat or towel, and feel free to bring any props or a blanket to stay comfy. Hope to see you there!

Functional is another way of saying how you go about your everyday life.
We don't think about our breathing much, but you can start by noticing if you tend to breathe through the mouth, snore or hold your breath a lot.
Then spend a little time breathing softly and gently.

Whenever I’m asked “What style of yoga do you teach?”
It ruffles my feathers.

Because describing WHAT I do and more importantly, HOW I help you isn’t easy.

If the question is from a seasoned yogi, they’ll expect a one word response that describes a specific school of yoga. And back in 2005, as a new teacher, I would say I was a vinyasa flow teacher

But it’s not so simple.

Have you ever rocked up to a class, say an Ashtanga or Hatha class, expecting one thing but getting something quite different or not the way you’ve experienced it before?

So, what could save you heaps of time and even hurt feelings is ask yourself how am I really feeling? What is it that I yearn to do or feel?
Then delve into: Why does this class feel a good fit.
Back to my style of yoga.
I’ve been invited to teach a free yoga in the park session in my new home of Bridport.
Very exciting! Also my first anniversary of moving here. I’m really looking forward to it as a lovely opportunity to connect and settle in with my community.

To give people a sense of what to expect, I need to sum up what I do and my WHY in a few sentences.Then I hope our practice will do the rest.

In a nutshell, I help people look after their joints, bone health, and emotional wellbeing. Integrating yoga, breathwork, with movement science for smart, accessible ways to tend to your physical and emotional wellbeing at any age.

Having had a bumpy ride in perimenopause I dedicate a lot of classes to supporting anxiety, hot flashes and help you sleep well — no pressure, no pretence Just real yoga for real life.
