🎅 Christmas Opening Hours 🎄
A little heads-up from our clinic elves! 🧦✨

We’ll be closed from 25th December so our team can enjoy some well-earned festive rest (and probably too many mince pies) 🎁😌

We’ll be back open on 2nd January, refreshed, recharged, and ready to help you start 2026 on the right foot 👣💙

If you need appointments before Christmas, make sure to get booked in early — December slots disappear faster than Quality Streets in the staff room! 🍫😉

Wishing you all a cosy, joyful, and foot-pain-free Christmas 🎄❤️

👣 A big thank you to this lovely patient for their words 💙
They came in feeling very uncomfortable and worried about their toenail… and left feeling relieved, supported and finally pain-free.

Katey provided gentle, confident care from the start — and Clare stepped in to offer her expert opinion too, making sure everything felt clear, safe and fully explained.

The result?
✅ Same-day treatment
✅ Pain eased
✅ Patient reassured
✅ Confidence restored

This is exactly why we work as a team — so you always feel listened to, supported, and in good hands.

If you’re struggling with a painful toenail (ingrown, infected or uncomfortable), please don’t wait and suffer through it.
We can help.

🧦 “Dobby is free — he has a sock!”
…And your feet can be happy too 👣✨

Your socks do far more than keep your toes covered.
The right pair can improve comfort, warmth, circulation and even skin health.
The wrong pair? Blisters, fungal infections, cold toes & discomfort.

We now stock a full range of clinic-approved socks, including:
• Diabetic-friendly socks – gentle grip, no tight elastic, reduced friction
• Raynaud’s thermal socks – designed to help keep toes warm & reduce flare-ups
• Walking & hiking socks – cushioned, moisture-wicking & blister-preventing
• Bamboo socks – breathable, anti-bacterial, super soft & odour-reducing

Why bamboo?
Because it naturally:
• Wicks away sweat
• Reduces odour
• Regulates temperature
• Feels extra kind to sensitive skin

Your feet are with you all day — they deserve comfort, warmth and care.
Dobby knew the value of a good sock… and honestly, same.

Pop in and we’ll help you choose the best socks for your feet 🧦💙

👣 Footloose and Fungal Free ✨
Fungal nails are incredibly common – but they don’t have to be permanent.
They often start as mild discolouration, flakiness or thickening… and slowly worsen over time if left untreated.

The key is catching it early and treating it correctly (no – painting over it or using random pharmacy creams for 2 weeks won’t fix it!).

In clinic, we can:
• Confirm if it’s actually fungal (not all thick nails are)
• Gently reduce the nail to improve appearance
• Provide medical-strength treatment options
• Guide you step-by-step so it actually resolves, not just hides

If you’ve been putting it off because it “doesn’t hurt”… this is your sign.
Let’s get those nails clear, healthy and confident again.

👣 Chilblains Season is Here Let’s Protect Those Toes ❄️

Chilblains occur when the small blood vessels in your skin over-react to cold → warm temperature changes. This can cause red, purple, itchy or burning patches on your toes, fingers, heels or ears.

If left untreated, they can become cracked, blistered, or even infected especially in those with circulation conditions or diabetes.

To help protect the skin barrier, we stock Akileïne Winter Protective Cream in clinic. This cream forms a protective layer, maintains hydration and supports the skin in colder weather to reduce chilblain flare-ups.

Top Tips:
• Warm up gradually (no direct heaters on cold feet)
• Wear well-fitted, warm socks (not tight!)
• Keep skin moisturised to protect the barrier
• If the skin breaks, or you have underlying conditions → see a podiatrist

Your feet deserve warm, healthy care this winter.

👣 Let’s talk pedicures, cuticles & foot health ✨

Your cuticles are not just “extra skin.”
They are a protective seal between your nail plate and the skin. This seal prevents bacteria, fungus, and debris from entering the nail unit.

When cuticles are aggressively cut, pushed back too far, or removed entirely, it can lead to:
• Paronychia (painful, inflamed skin around the nail)
• Chronic nail fold infection
• Thickened, distorted or misshapen nails
• Increased risk of fungal nail infection
• Ingrown nails

In busy nail salons, shared tools may not always be sterilised to medical standards. This increases the risk of spreading:
• Fungal nail infections
• Athlete’s foot
• Bacterial infections
• Verrucae (HPV)
• Blood-borne infection risk if skin is cut

This is where the difference in training really matters:

As Podiatrists we:
• Are trained in anatomy, dermatology, circulation & nerve health
• Use medical-grade sterilisation
• Can safely treat corns, callus, cracked heels, thickened nails & fungal nails
• Can identify early signs of diabetes-related foot issues and vascular/nerve changes
• Focus on long-term comfort and health, as well as appearance

Even if you’re “just coming for hard skin,” you’re also:
• Reducing future pressure & pain
• Preventing cracked heels & infection
• Protecting the health of the nail & surrounding skin
• Receiving a professional assessment

Your feet carry your entire body weight every single day.
They deserve safe, skilled, clinical care.

👣 For healthy feet that look AND feel good choose podiatry.

🟦 World Diabetes Day — 14th November 🟦
Your feet tell a story — and with diabetes, it’s important we listen.

Diabetes can affect:
• Circulation (reduced blood flow to the feet)
• Nerve sensation (feeling may become altered or reduced)
• Skin & nail health (slower healing + increased infection risk)

This means that small issues can turn into bigger problems if they’re missed.

Signs to look out for:
• Tingling, numbness or ‘pins and needles’
• Dry, cracked heels or skin that splits easily
• Changes in nail colour or thickness
• Blisters, calluses or corns that appear quickly
• A cut, sore or wound that doesn’t heal normally

Even if your feet feel absolutely fine, regular checks are essential.
Changes can develop silently.

👣 We offer full Diabetic Foot Assessments, including:
• Vascular (circulation) testing
• Sensation/neuropathy testing
• Skin and nail health review
• Personalised care and prevention plan

Early detection protects long-term health.
Small steps today can prevent serious complications tomorrow.
