Nottingham MS Therapy Centre - The Oxygen Centre

Nottingham MS Therapy Centre - The Oxygen Centre (home of the MS Therapy Centre) therapies include Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy & much more.

Registered charity helping the people of Notts & surrounding areas for over 40 years. The Nottingham MS Therapy Centre was established in 1984 solely for people with multiple sclerosis and everyone connected with them. Over the last few years hyperbaric oxygen has been shown to offer beneficial results to people with many other health conditions, including cancers, injuries, and for children with cerebral palsy or autism. We feel our new name reflects this and it has the full support of our many members with MS. Our charity remains the Nottingham MS Therapy Centre but our open membership welcomes and supports people with other health conditions. We are now known as the Nottingham Oxygen Centre (home of the MS Therapy Centre)

Recently retired & already bored? We have the answer!

As a charity who’ve provided hyperbaric oxygen therapy for over 40 years to people with MS, ME/CFS, Cancer & cancer treatment recovery, fibromyalgia, long covid & so many more conditions, we need your help!

Demand for our therapies has increased so much that we’re on the way to opening additional days. To do that, we need to take on additional volunteers to assist our senior operators with running our sessions. No experience needed as full training & support will be provided. You’ll meet some truly inspirational people & join our family of dedicated staff & volunteers with a love of banter & (often dark) humour.

If you’d like to join our team, just visit our website & send us your details. If you have different skills to offer & you’d like to volunteer, please also get in touch. We’re looking for various therapists, gardeners, people who love scanning & shredding to name just a few.

The Nottingham MS Therapy Centre, aka The Oxygen Centre, has been providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the people of Nottinghamshire and surrounding counties, since 1984. We accept self-referrals from people with many conditions other than multiple sclerosis. If in doubt, drop us a line.

For decades, people with ME/CFS have endured both stigma and a lack of meaningful research funding. Recently, the NIH has named ME/CFS in its Research in Context feature on mitochondria, an important step toward recognition of the disease’s physiological roots.

At Bateman Horne Center, we’ve been studying mitochondrial dysfunction for years.

In this new blog post, read more about why NIH’s spotlight matters and an overview of mitochondria’s connection to ME/CFS, Long COVID and related Infection Associated Chronic Conditions (IACCs) → https://bit.ly/4mjda8g

This ME Association leaflet talks about Pacing with particular regard to ME/CFS and Long Covid/CFS. It provides useful advice which can be used by anyone trying to cope with ill health.

As explained by the ME Association :

Pacing: Activity and Energy Management

We explain how you can safely manage functional incapacity by using a management approach known as Pacing. It will help you learn how to live with ME/CFS and Long Covid without triggering an exacerbation of symptoms. It is consistent with the NICE Guideline on ME/CFS.
