Prescribed a medication to REDUCE/LOWER the production of stomach acid? YET....

The issue is commonly, not too much stomach acid, but not strong enough acidity and therefore ends up in the wrong post code.

Also reducing stomach acid, reduces the disinfecting powers of the stomach, after all we need those microscopic bugs to be 'singed' by the STRONG acid. If not, they can go onto reap havoc further down the gut...which can result in chronic health issues such as bowel cancer.

IF THIS IS THE CASE, THEN WHY DOES NOT EVERYONE WHO IS ON THESE ANTACIDS KNOW THIS? 🧠

So what happens next? You don't have enough stomach acid, so the LOWER OESOPHAGEAL SPHINCTER does not get the CLEAR acidic message that you can now 'shut shop', so it remains open, and out shoots the acid (and pepsin) from the stomach. OUCH OUCH! 🤨

The stomach has a thick mucosal lining, which protects it from the acidity (isn't biology just amazing?) and from the pepsinogen (which is a protein-digesting enzyme)...but sadly the oesophagus lining does not have this protection, so there is pain, burning, inflammation and if this continues, ulcers etc. ⚠️

Furthermore, the stomach acid reduces even further...yet acid reflux in MAJORITY of cases is not due to, excess acidity.

So, as the acid-blocking medications are continued, they increase the risk of H.Pylori. These critters are around all the time, but they only come out to party when the 'big bro' has left (i.e stomach acid is low). Sadly, H.Pylori can lead to stomach cancer if left unchecked. 👀

(there is a blog on H.Pylori too)

But on a more nutritional note, once you reduce stomach acid with these meds, you impact everything else downstream, including nutrient depletion.

I see too many kids on Omeprazole, kids should not be prescribed Omeprazole IMHO, then they end up having growth issues, nutritional deficiencies, poor gut health....on and on it goes.

Also acid reflux can be linked to poor bile health, constipation, poor gut motility, overeating (you know when you feel so full, you can't even breathe), not enough serotonin, not leaving enough time in between meals as this upsets the Migrating Motor Complex...and so on

Know anyone with acid reflux? And know any parents whose child is on Omeprazole? This blog is for them...🙏

Some tips, some free education, some love 💚

An MIT study found that heavy AI use, like ChatGPT, reduces memory, critical thinking, and brain activity, based on EEG scans of 54 students over four months.

Frequent AI users produced less original work, struggled to recall their writing, and exhibited "mental passivity," even when switching to unaided tasks.

The study suggests AI can create echo chambers and is best used as a support, not a substitute, for human thinking.

Everything is interconnected. Focusing on one part of the body or just the symptom doesn't take this into consideration.

Inflammation HAS PURPOSE. 🙏 It is not there to make life a misery. It is part of our survival mechanism.

The body does not produce gunk in the eyes, as it is bored, it does not get your eyes watering because it is hay fever season.

Inflammation is a sign that the immune system is 'talking', it is doing its job, it is healing SOMETHING OR FEW THINGS. The immune system consists of all manner of cells, and all these cells speak to each other via all manner of cytokines (these are the words of the immune system).

So one cell may produce a shed load of histamine and another a bucket full of interleukin 10. These are all simply CYTO-KINES (chemicals produced by cells) ..their language.

Without them, the immune system cannot communicate. So when we suppress inflammation with anti-histamines or anti-inflammatories, it is a bit like taping your mouth 🤐. Yes, I may be swearing at someone who just knocked me over whilst running past me after robbing the lady a few yards away , but putting tape over my mouth is not solving the issue. That person running down the street is still creating 'havoc. '

Inflammation is VITAL but too much is not so great, such as the cytokine storm ⚡️. No one wants a cytokine storm, but the immune cells are screaming out 'guys we have work to do, come on get your back sides into gear and sort this out, this is serious and at the same time, you back sliders over there keep sending out the anti-inflammatory 'kines'.

The gob-smacking awesome immune cells not only speak the language of inflammation but some in the community speak the language of 'anti-inflammation'....the balance is where the magic happens.

The COVID virus has taught us that inflammation-inducing foods (junk food, put simply) only speak to the inflammation-speaking cells; this creates a forest fire within.
So what can you do?..learn the language of the inflammation balancing cells...this language looks like ;
- Nourishing foods
- Healthy sleeping habits
- Bathing in nature
- De-stressing
- Exercising
- Saying goodbye to the fat cells
- NOT living in isolation- connect with people
- Feeding your microbiome
- Doing the inner work
- Stop wearing fake eyelashes (impacts passive immunity, no joke), your own eyelashes are luscious enough 🥰

Inflammation is the language of our immune cells; it is not something that needs to be masked, suppressed, or blocked. So why are not enough cells speaking anti-inflammatory 'speak'? Is it because the inflammatory ones are louder and more dominant?

Without inflammation, we would die. It is when it is OUT OF BALANCE for too long that it becomes an issue. But do not blame inflammation, do not blame the pathogen, it is the terrain that is poorly nourished. ☘️
