🔔 Tinnitus Awareness Week 🔔
Tinnitus can be heard in one ear, both ears or in the centre of the head. It may be constant or come and go, and can sound like ringing, buzzing, humming, whooshing or roaring.
For many people, tinnitus brings stress, anxiety, sleep problems and difficulty concentrating - and even silence can feel overwhelming.
Tinnitus can affect a wide range of people, from those exposed to loud music such as DJs, musicians, bands and concert-goers, to people with hearing loss, those working with machinery or anyone regularly exposed to loud noise without ear protection.
It may also be linked to:
• Earwax build-up
• Ear infections or perforated eardrums
• Noise exposure
• Stress
• Vertigo or Ménière’s disease
• (In rare cases) tumours
