The Manor Residential Home - Arnold Ltd Keep up to date with all of the recent news and events happening at The Manor Full nursing care is not catered for.

The Manor Residential Home is a long-term residential care home for the placement of older people aged 65 onwards. It specialises in providing support to males and females who can no longer live on their own and require help with washing, dressing, mobility and all aspects of personal care. A full needs assessment is carried out for each prospective resident to ensure their needs can be met. The home is located in Church Street, Arnold, which is four miles north of Nottingham. Arnold offers a wide range of facilities which include a pedestrianised shopping centre, a library, and several other shops, newsagents etc. A bus stop stands directly outside the main gate; this offers regular services to Nottingham city centre. The church from which the road takes its name is also close by. The home stands on the site of the Old Manor House which was demolished at the beginning of the twentieth century. The present Manor House was originally built in 1928 by Mr T Nix. During its construction he purchased the distinctive stained glass window from the Nottingham Exchange. The window bears the Old Nottingham Coat of Arms and is still a most interesting and unique feature of this lovely building. The property was re-developed with a large purpose built extension in 1996. Further extensions were added in 2000 and 2015. The home is set in large gardens edged by trees. This morning in our care home was filled with music, memories, and plenty of smiles 🎶💜

We started the day with the timeless hits of Elvis Presley playing through the lounge — and before long, toes were tapping, hands were clapping, and a few of our residents were even up dancing! From “Jailhouse Rock” to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” the room came alive with energy and nostalgia.

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, and today was a perfect example of that. Some residents shared their memories of seeing Elvis on TV, while others sang along word for word — every lyric still fresh in their hearts.

To keep the fun going, we followed it up with an Elvis quiz! There was lots of laughter (and a little friendly competition!) as everyone tested their knowledge — from his famous songs to fun facts about his life. We even discovered a few “Elvis experts” among us 👑

It was a wonderful morning full of joy, movement, and connection. Moments like these remind us just how powerful music can be 💫

This morning was truly heart warming at our care home💜
We were delighted to welcome a group of children who came to visit from our local community, making the morning even more special, we are also pleased to welcome back Nelly the dog she visits us regularly, Nelly brought plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and smiles to our residents.
It was truly heart warming to see the joy on everyone’s faces as residents spent time with Nelly, gently stroking her and enjoying her presence, while chatting and laughing with the children.
The combination of pet therapy and visits from young people create such a positive atmosphere, helping to boost wellbeing, spark conversations, and bring so much happiness to our home. It was beautiful to see different generations connecting so naturally, creating moments that will be cherished by everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the morning so memorable 🐾✨

Life in our care home is full of excitement… and a serious level of bingo competition 🎉

Eyes down, dabbers ready—things got intense here this morning especially when there’s a full house on the line (we’ve seen friendships tested… only joking… mostly 😄).

When we’re not battling it out over bingo, we’re busy being pampered with fabulous nail sessions—because who says you can’t look glamorous while winning at life?

But in between the laughs, the games, and the sparkle, it’s the time we spend together that really matters. Plenty of chats, shared stories, and moments that turn into memories 💛

Safe to say… there’s never a dull moment here!

It’s these simple joys and connections that make this place feel like home ✨

We’re feeling a little bit lucky today and we hope you all are too.

We will have a fun day packed with Guinness tasting, some relaxing colouring, plenty of Irish music, St Patrick's quiz and of course… the main event… our staff attempting an Irish jig. We can’t promise the best dancing, but we can promise plenty of laughs! ☘️💃

Mother’s Day is a beautiful reminder of the love, strength, and care that mothers, grandmothers and mother figures give throughout their lives. Yesterday we took time to celebrate the incredible women in our home — mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who have spent a lifetime caring for others.
For many of our residents, today was filled with precious moments — holding a loved one’s hand, sharing stories from years gone by, admiring flowers, and enjoying quiet smiles together. Each conversation and memory reminded us just how much love these women have given to their families and communities over the years.
Some mothers were surrounded by family, while others were held close in our thoughts and hearts. No matter the circumstances, yesterday was about honouring their journeys, their sacrifices, and the warmth they have brought into so many lives.
To every mum grand mother or mother figure in and out of our home: your love has shaped generations, and yesterday we celebrated you with gratitude and affection. You are truly cherished. 💜

Not quite sure what to say about this one… 🤭

We’ve got Abbi confidently leading what can only be described as a Zumba-inspired workout, Michelle trying her best to remember the moves to the Macarena (with mixed success!), and Simeon… well… we’re still not entirely sure what Simeon was doing! 😂

One thing we are sure about though — there was plenty of laughter and smiles all around.

At The Manor we believe life should be full of fun, and our team will happily make fools of themselves if it means putting a smile on our residents’ faces. Yesterday was all about music, movement, and a little bit of motivation through dance. 💃🕺

But don’t just take our word for it… we’ll let the videos of yesterday’s performance speak for themselves!💜
