Enjoying Valentine's Day.....

Everyone at Balmore Country House had a lovely time this Valentine's. We had the wonderful Kellan come and entertain us with a terrific afternoon of songs and music. He always puts on a great show, and it was perfect for the occasion. Add in some lovely food and drink and a generous supply of red roses, and it was smiles all round. We hope you enjoyed Valentine's Day as much as we did!

A lovely Christmas Day!

Balmore residents celebrated Christmas Day in style this year. The home was buzzing from the moment the first present was opened until the last mince pie was eaten! It was really great to see so many family members and friends come to visit, and we hope they all enjoyed themselves as much as our lovely residents clearly did. So many people worked tirelessly to make sure the day was a success, and so a huge thank you to them. The day was truly special, and these photos give you just a glimpse of the wonderful time everyone had. We hope you hsd a great Christmas too!

Christmas Goodies!....

Staff and residents at Balmore Country House and The Ruddington were full of anticipation this week for the Christmas Hamper draws. So congratulations to our winners, our lovely residents, Sarah Ellen from The Ruddington, Colin from Balmore, and staff member Diane from Balmore. They were really pleased with the yummy contents of the hampers, but couldn't commit to them lasting more than a few days! To be fair, if we'd won, neither could we! They look great.

What a Party!....

This week has seen the Balmore and Ruddington Christmas Party - and what a party it turned out to be. We had quizzes, some fantastic musical entertainment, and lots of dancing. There was a spectacular spread of food and plenty to drink. It was thoroughly enjoyed by residents and staff, and we want ot say a big thank you to everyone who helped organise it and make it such a big success on the day.

Getting Festive.....

Marking Remembrance Day....

At Balmore House we always mark Remembrance Day as it holds deep significance for many of our residents. The home will hold a period of silence and make sure that we honour the sacrifice of people in the two World Wars and other conflicts. We are sure that our residents willl recall stories from the past and reflect on the people from their families that were lost. We hope that going forward we can all learn to live in a more peaceful and harmonious world. We should never forget the sacrifices of those who fought so that we can live as freely as we do today.

Hubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble....

Halloween week was certainly enjoyed by the residents of Balmore Country House. In particular, our ladies loved dressing up in their witches' hats and causing no end of trouble for everyone! Just joking - they are the nicest set of witches you will ever meet. Everyone enjoyed the decorations around the home and joining in the spooky fun all week!

Getting sporty!

Our lovely residents at Balmore House can get very competitive when it comes to games and sporting competition. And so it was this weekend when we set up a little tabletop table tennis. We didnt need the full size professioanl setup for things to get quite feisty! Some great shots and good tactics, as well as lots of laughter made for an excellent session - perfect for keeping our residents' hand eye coordination in fine fettle.

A creative weekend...

We often hold arts and crafts sessions at Balmore House. It's a great way to help residents engage in a task and also helps with fine motor skills. This weekend, we undertook some rock painting. There was plenty of creativity on display, and the finished rocks are now around residents' rooms and the home. A lovely way to spend a few hours and a very soothing session, which everyone enjoyed.
