Marking Remembrance Day....

At Balmore House we always mark Remembrance Day as it holds deep significance for many of our residents. The home will hold a period of silence and make sure that we honour the sacrifice of people in the two World Wars and other conflicts. We are sure that our residents willl recall stories from the past and reflect on the people from their families that were lost. We hope that going forward we can all learn to live in a more peaceful and harmonious world. We should never forget the sacrifices of those who fought so that we can live as freely as we do today.

Hubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble....

Halloween week was certainly enjoyed by the residents of Balmore Country House. In particular, our ladies loved dressing up in their witches' hats and causing no end of trouble for everyone! Just joking - they are the nicest set of witches you will ever meet. Everyone enjoyed the decorations around the home and joining in the spooky fun all week!

For some time, Balmore has sponsored our local boys' football team - Clifton All Whites. So we are very happy to help them advertise their upcoming Fireworks Display on the 8th November. It promises to be a fab event so it would be great to see as many people there as possible.

Getting sporty!

Our lovely residents at Balmore House can get very competitive when it comes to games and sporting competition. And so it was this weekend when we set up a little tabletop table tennis. We didnt need the full size professioanl setup for things to get quite feisty! Some great shots and good tactics, as well as lots of laughter made for an excellent session - perfect for keeping our residents' hand eye coordination in fine fettle.

A creative weekend...

We often hold arts and crafts sessions at Balmore House. It's a great way to help residents engage in a task and also helps with fine motor skills. This weekend, we undertook some rock painting. There was plenty of creativity on display, and the finished rocks are now around residents' rooms and the home. A lovely way to spend a few hours and a very soothing session, which everyone enjoyed.

Next Saturday the 26th July sees Balmore Country House hold its annual Summer Fayre in conjunction with The Ruddington. It's sure to be a terrific event, as always, with plenty to see and do.
