This week is adult safeguarding week!

Safeguarding is all about prevention and the steps which can be taken to support individuals from potential harm or abuse and to act before any harm occurs.

Safeguarding and risk assessments are part of our everyday practice, ensuring we are supporting those we care for to remain as safe in their homes as possible.

It is also important for this reason to build and develop strong friendships between our staff and clients so we can encourage clients to speak up if they are concerned or worried about anything. This is a part of person centered care and goes at the heart of how we provide care for our clients.

Today is world kindness day! ♥️

Here at Be Cared For, kindness isn’t just a value we celebrate once a year — it’s the heart of everything we do.

Every day, our carers step into people’s homes with compassion, patience, and intention to make someone’s day a little brighter.

Whether it’s a reassuring smile, an extra moment spent listening, or helping someone regain confidence in daily tasks, these small acts of kindness create meaningful connections and improve wellbeing in ways that truly matter.

Today, we want to celebrate our carers who go above and beyond.

A huge well done to Natalie, Cheryl and Elaine who completed the memory walk last weekend in order to raise money for the Alzheimers Society, we raised a total of £375!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. This is a day for spreading awareness of support networks and to take worldwide action for the prevention of su***de.

We find it is important to take note as the elderly community can be very isolated and for those without family sometimes we are the only people popping in on other's lives. Here at Be Cared For we build relationships with our clients so we are able to deliver person-centered care which is tailored around those we care for.

We see ourselves as a friendly face and shall support with any concerns when it comes to isolation and loneliness. We aim to promote good well-being for our clients and always strive to achieve any personal goals our service users have in visiting somehwere special to them.

Get your dancing shoes on as today is World Music Day!
Music is one thing that really connects every individual and we all have such different tastes which makes music such an important part of a person's life. Music can be associated with memories, can make memories and just generally a good time.
For those with dementia music can be a key to unlocking memories once forgotten; maybe it was the song of the first dance at a wedding, or a song at a school disco, or a song which they knew all the words to. Music is amazing at unlocking those memories and allows people to re-experience those memories and enjoy telling us about how much a song means to them or what they remember their life being like back then, they might even sing along too.
This is why we understand that music is such an important factor when building a care plan for those we support. There is a lot of support for music in the community as well with many Singing for the Brain groups which engage the older generation with music to help keep the brain stimulated.

A few of us met today for a farewell lunch following Sharleen’s last day in the office. Sharleen is returning home to Australia after many years here at Be Cared For Ltd. Sharleen started with us as a carer when the company was first established in 2012 and leaves now as our training manager for the last 3 years. Sharleen has been a huge support to all and will be greatly missed by all the team and service users, good luck Shar 🥰

We are looking for caring, kind, hard working individuals who want to help others in their community to join our team.

Contracted working hours to suit you to allow you to work around your family and commitments.
Experience in care is an advantage but not essential as full and on-going training will be provided.

Driving license and own transport is essential. Mileage will be paid along with a competitive hourly rate.
We offer support in Bingham, Radcliffe, East bridgford and Aslockton/Whatton.

Thursday is the new Friday this week, we all hope you have a lovely long weekend! Fingers crossed the weather holds out and maybe we can even have a BBQ! (Optimistic we know!) 🌞🌦🕶☂️

As always Easter is a fun weekend to celebrate friends and family - and a lot of chocolate! We are honoured to say all our clients and our carers are a family of their own and we all look out for each other and support one another.
This can be so crucial to some of our clients as they may only have us visiting throughout the day and may not have other sources of support.
According to a survey completed by our online care management system, Birdie, family members are providing over 60% care for the elderly population in today's climate.

This is the single largest group of care reflected in how families are seen as the 'first port of call' for a lot of the elderly population, highlighting the importance of getting the right support in place for each individual. This is where we take such pride in our role in being part of the Village and care support which Birdie talks about in their 'It Takes A Village' report.
