I am sitting on the train London bound writing my personal and business story for my new website.

As I revisit the last 25 years I am so grateful to all those people who I have met. To those that have been part of Project Annie. Who have helped, guided, picked me up.

Thank you.

Work life balance

What does that mean to you?

For me it means that I can enjoy those special moments …

Savouring the evening stillness and the warmth and not been bedecked in waterproofs from head to toe. Reminding one that autumn can be a lovely time of year.

Picking runners beans and a courgette whilst the Little Owls chatter and Tawny Owls converse across the valley.

Listening to the contented munching of the does chewing their cud.

And the nuckerings of a VERY frustrated buck who REALLY does want to be with the girls!

Meeting new people by phone, zoom or in person. Listening to their life stories, and sharing health and financial stability.

Nearly forgot a lovely hack out on a super chilled Gossip.

Not a bad day

Are SMART goals relevant to health?

The more SPECIFIC you can be about what you want enables you to build a goal that is RELEVANT to you and not to please someone else the more ACHIEVABLE your target will be.

Goals like “I want to be loose weight” are less achievable because they are not specific.

However, goals like “I want to loose 2 stone” is specific and measurable but may not give you the body or health result you wish for.

Whereas, a goal of “I want to be able wear x dress comfortably because that is the dress that I wore when I first met my partner. To achieve that I will do x, y and z. Brings emotion and meaning into the goal. It is therefore much more likely to be ACHIEVED.

Life is full of learning opportunities, especially where animals are concerned.

Today was one of those days where patience, persistence & hard work pay off.

Thank you to Gossip for reminding me that often it is the simple things we need to change & to build upon.

We humans are no different.

Whilst we are donning our shorts for the first appearance of summer.

Nature is starting their journey towards winter.

The nights are drawing in. The last couple of nights I have needed the barn lights to do late night stables.

The chicken & rooks are heading back to their coop & trees earlier.

Tonight for the first time the still evening air was full of the sound of squabbling geese as they prepared for bed in the lake across the fields.

Our bodies would naturally do the same preparation but we switch on the lights.

Just one example of the conflict between primitive and modern man.

Hello summer!

The topic of sun and protection will no doubt be being discussed.

Some thoughts:

Vitamin D is absorbed through the skin
Suncream stops that absorption

Many people are Vitamin D deficient

Suncream stops the harmful sun rays that cause the skin to burn

Many suncreams are full of chemicals and block the pores
Resulting in people feeling hot and sticky.
But there are natural suncreams that do work.

In saying that this year we have not had a gentle build up to sun. So our skin is less well adjusted than in other years.

Research is now linking the onset of disease, and therefore mortality with our biological age rather than our actual or chronological age. Long term stress appears to be a significant factor in increasing our biological age.

Is YOUR biological age the same as your chronological age?

Do you think that you can alter your biological age?

What are your thoughts?

Just love being able to make a difference and support them as they change their health.

It feels like life is getting back on track ….

Some wonderful moments today.

Little Rupert had his first day as copilot. He is not a massive fan of the car, so we were serenaded through the countryside by Classic FM! It was so lovely to see him grow with confidence through the day.

🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Back on Gossip again was a real plus, it seems like it has been a long summer. Even more wonderful to see him back as the Gossip we know & love, aka “The Cuddle Monster”

Thank you Bruce Thorpeley for doing your magic.

It was also a huge privilege to see the masters at their work at Thorpeley Irish Draught and Rare Breed Stud. The majesty of Jenson, a Suffolk Punch stallion, huge & powerful in stature so gentle at his job.

Then it was off to get put straight again by Mark at Rushden Chiropractic Clinic. Despite the knee being absolutely fabulous, the body is still having a tantrum at the existence of the 3 long screws holding it all in place. However, as Mark said not long now, only another month or so. I must be patient a little longer!

Yahoo 🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Then down into the rolling countryside of Cambridgeshire. The farmers were busy in the fields, tractors discing & seeding, cars, seed and fertiliser sacs littering the entrances. The hedgerows burning in colours more reminiscent of the fireside, oranges, reds and yellows against the brownness of the fields. The sun was still warm reminding one of the summer past, and the sky huge in relation to the landscape. Here is so much tamer than the Big Sky country of the Fens but the small rolling hillocks always make me want to pause and take it all in.

Today I was reminded of just how far I had come. As this is the land that I had just moved to when my rehabilitation journey was just starting in 1997. The time of my first knee operation.

It has been quite a journey physically, mentally and emotionally. One that hasn’t ended yet, there is still more growth to be done.

The desire that took me to take those first tentative steps, to learn what I have learnt, still burns within me but in a different way, to help others, like me, refund the joy of living.

With age one doesn’t grow older, hopefully just wiser.
