Don’t feel pressured to say yes - saying NO for the right reasons can be liberating.

🌟 TIP: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s perfectly ok to decline an invite. Instead, treat yourself to a home spa experience, an early night or anything that feels nourishing and relaxing.

Not only will your host appreciate it, but you’ll also have something you feel good about eating. 😋

🌟 TIP: Pile your plate with veg, salads (watch out for fatty dressings) and lean protein first, you’ll have less room on your plate for the carbs and UPFs.

✨ Top tip to manage Christmas overwhelm

Last week I was feeling a bit overwhelmed 😫 – I had more meetings than usual, a couple of later nights, a busy weekend planned, Christmas shopping to do – you know how it is at this time of year.

I need today to be calmer 😌:

💡 Instead of being overwhelmed by my ‘to do’ list, I’m prioritising just 3 important tasks that I know I can realistically get done today.

I can forget the rest – my list will still be there tomorrow!

Then before I go to bed tonight, I’ll reflect on my day and celebrate the things I DID get done. 🥳👏🏻

Hi, I’m Catherine and I’m a Health Coach. Here’s a bit more about what I do and why...

😫 Do you feel tired, stressed and overwhelmed or know someone who does? I’d be surprised if you don’t - it seems pretty normal these days, especially for women in midlife!

✨ If every day feels like groundhog day, or you are wondering ‘is this it?’, then I promise that you don’t need to feel like this!

That was how I felt for years 😞, until I realised the impact it was having on my health and relationships. Over many years I transformed my own health and then retrained, to help others do the same.

Through simple, sustainable changes to diet 🥑 and lifestyle 🧘‍♀️, I now help my clients to regain their energy, find their calm, and confidently take control of their health and life.

🫶🏼 I’m passionate about empowering women to live life on their own terms – I love seeing my clients’ motivation and confidence grow week after week.

When I’m not working, at home you’ll most likely find me either on the yoga mat, reading a good book, or cooking something delicious in the kitchen! 🍲

I also love getting out into nature, with friends and family. 🌳

But my life didn’t always look like this.

📆 It's December and time for the new Action for Happiness calendar to go up on my fridge.

This month it's a reminder that Christmas isn't all about the gifts 🎁.

It's 'do good' December, and each day offers you a different way to spread kindness. 🫶🏼

And did you know, kindness doesn't just impact those you are kind to?

❤️ A study at Yale School of Medicine found that as acts of kindness went up, stress and negative emotions went down!

Could kindness be your perfect antidote to the stress of Christmas?

You could try

💝 20 minutes reading a great book, snuggled on the sofa

💝 a 30 minute walk outside in nature

💝 an hour having a coffee and chat with a friend

💝 a Christmas crafting workshop

💝 a yoga class

Pick something you enjoy and find relaxing, to bring your stress levels down. 😊

💁🏼‍♀️ Starting healthy habits is easy… keeping them going is where most of us struggle.

I talk to so many people who feel super motivated at first… but then life gets busy, old routines sneak back in, and healthy habits fall by the wayside. 😔

As a coach, I’ve seen time and again that it’s rarely about willpower. It’s the small things: overwhelm 😵‍💫, trying to change too much at once 🤹‍♀️, or feeling discouraged when results aren’t instant.⏳

✨ The good news? Small, consistent steps really do add up. 📈

Building new healthy habits is lot easier when you’re not doing it alone.

Accountability isn’t about someone judging you - it’s about having someone who knows you, checks in, and reminds you of the version of yourself you’re trying to become. 🏆

We are all busy, we’ve all got lots on our plates.

🫶🏻 A little support, a nudge, “Hi, did you get that walk in today?” can make all the difference.

What we really need is someone on our side while we build habits that actually stick.

✨ My surprising tip for a great night's sleep! 🛌

I noticed recently that if I go out for a short walk after dinner 🚶‍♀️, my sleep is deeper and less disturbed.

🤷‍♀️ I'm not sure why.

I don't think a 'walk after dinner' is typical advice for good sleep, but it seems to work for me!

If you struggle with waking in the night or disturbed sleep then it might work for you too.

💡 It's also a great way to get more exercise and fresh air into your day.

💭 Why not give it a go every day this week and see what changes?
