Namib Yogi

Namib Yogi Hatha Yoga for the people of Keyworth, Nottinghamshire and surrounding villages. Welcome to my page, lovely to have you here! This was a big game changer for me.

A bit about me and how I got into Yoga and why I am hooked...

My name is Irene Taylor and I first started practising Yoga in 2003 to keep my body toned and flexible, to feel more relaxed and find something that complemented my running. Slowly over time I began to realise that Yoga was helping me with all sorts of other things including the anxiety I was experiencing. I used to suffer terribly with anxiety from my teenage years right into early adulthood. My mind would build up all these fears in my mind of future happenings and how to prepare myself. I then I noticed that I started to feel anxious about feeling anxious! I was worried that people would notice my anxiety. All this meant that I was living my life thinking ahead all the time and in the future. But by practising Yoga regularly over time, my anxiety slowly started to reduce. I was slowly re-training my mind. I was giving my mind breaks where it could have stillness, focus and being in the present moment. I stopped worrying about future things and became calm and peaceful. It has taught me to take time for myself and my own wellbeing, be in tune with my body and mind and listen to them, be physically strong, flexible and healthy, and helped me to become the person I am meant to be today. It has given me a sense of freedom physically, mentally and emotionally. So I decided to train as a yoga teacher so I could help others to feel this freedom in their lives. I am now a fully qualified Yoga Alliance 200hr and YMCA Level 3 yoga teacher and love teaching Yoga and giving local people the tools to find their physical, mental and emotional freedom too. I hope to see you at one of my classes soon. Lots of Love

Our Dahlias lifted, tagged and washed, ready to be divided and stored for winter.

Last year we lost all our Dahlias up at the allotment, possibly the long freeze we had before xmas or all the rain. Luckily we only had a few then.
This year I didn't want to chance it.
🤞🏼my dividing skills are up to it and they make it through winter in storage!
And can't wait to get some new varieties for next year too😃.
