There are some activities happening at The Lenton Centre, Willoughby Street, NG7 1RQ for people with learning disabilities and/or autism during February and March. Refreshments will be available after sessions.

Mondays: Boccia 1.30-2.30pm.
Tuesdays: Swimming, boccia or yoga 5-7.30pm.
Thursdays: Aqua aerobics 11-12pm.
Fridays: Seated yoga 11-12pm.

All set up at the carers dementia roadshow. We have information about dementia, communication and learning disability. Come and see us at the Richard Herrod Centre until 2pm.
There’s a dementia friends session, seated exercises, a memory cafe as well as other information.

Our team can talk to you about how dementia affects people with learning disabilities.

Tomorrow we will be at Richard Herrod Centre in Carlton for the Dementia and Carers roadshow.

Dementia rates are higher in people with learning disabilities. They can also develop it earlier than the general population and need specialist screening to diagnose.

The PCLN team are all here with Peter Poo, named by children from one of the local special schools.

The Trust is delighted to have colleagues shortlisted in two categories of the Nursing Times Awards. Our Learning Disability Primary Care Liaison team, Nottingham City and County, have been shortlisted in the Learning Disabilities Nursing category . This is for their work with the NHS bowel screening project, alongside Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

The Trust also has the Specialist Continence Service - Nottingham South shortlisted, jointly with staff from Derbyshire Community Health Services, in the Continence Promotion and Care category. This is for work they have done in enhancing clinical education and a university module on adult and paediatric bladder and bowel dysfunction.
